All right, if you follow
these guidelines, you'll have a small chance once you're out
of protection. After
the first twenty times you do this, you'll have an idea of any
adjustments that suit
you. But it's still what I (and several other players) do to
start.
All right, first things
first, Create your kingdom! Do whatever you want. I don't
complain about race
or faith. Pick them as you see fit, BUT keep in mind, if this is
your first time playing,
or second or third, you might wish to take a Human class,
as Elven and Goblin
require a bit more precision in governing due to the
advantages and disadvantages
they balance.
Next, start it, and
go to TOWNSHIP. Immediately build 16 quarries. Then build 10.
Then build 18. Then
build 14. Then build 24. Then build 27. DO NOT build these
all at once. If you
did this step by step, you'll see a pattern. Every construction
period allows you
one more structure per turn. Once you reach ten, it's the most
economical solution.
Your treasury will
be low, but steadily replenished. You will have enough money
to build 31 structures.
Build Hovels and Guild hall KEEP the number of buildings a number of 10.
Build 3 Guild hall
to 2 Hovels, I find this get you the most money per structure You can also
build
to a 1 to 1 ratio.
Then finish off your open land by building . You should now have about
440,000
gold in your treasury.
Go to TITHE and donate 410,000. This will give you 300 acres more
to
build on, and 25-55
new soldiers (depending on your race) to defend. They're unimportant right
now.
Since you gained this
new land, your building rates have gone down to 8 a turn.
For best efficiency,
since your turns are running low, build 24 more Quarries. This
will raise the total
to 9 a turn. Now, divide your remaining turns building Quarries, Towers
Guild Halls, and Hovels
until you get to your 100th turn. STOP! Wait until you have
125 turns the proceed.
I suggest tithing more and and building on your land. Try to
Keep enough quarries
built so each building turn make 10 buildings. Try to have the about
the
same number of Towers
to Guild Halls to Barracks, Having the same number of temples to
Hovels will also help.
Now that you're out
of protection, what to do? Buy soldiers would be wise,
Know race makes a
big difference here. If you are Human buy Pikemen, if you
are Goblin
buy Kobolds, and if
you are Elven buy archers. And then buy some Scum. Not TOO much,
but a few hundred
to keep the other pesky Scum off your land. You should always train most,
if not all, of your
Soldiers, and Scum. You need to keep you Income greater than your
expenses, Until you
get better and you know how much of a deficit your kingdom can handle
DON'T make one. Never
down size free troops they seem to be very cost effective.
Once your kingdom
gets bigger you can begin to buy Knights for humans and Giants for Goblins
and Griffins for Elven,
DO NOT buy Dragons, Ogres, or Wardens they are ineffective and
expensive.
