Acts of the Blood Countess
These are the Acts of the Blood Countess. They are some of the forms of torture which she
applied to her victoms. They are kinda sickening, so if you are weak of heart, stop reading here.
- One form of torture which Elizabeth was taught came from her husband, Count Ferenc Nadasdy;
and was very painful for the victom. A variation of "hot foot", pieces of paper were soaked in
oil and applied to the toes of the victoms feet. The paper is set on fire, and the paper only
allows the feet to burn. Putting the fire out is very difficult due to the oil, so this was a
form of torture that Elizabeth enjoyed.
- Another method of torture that Elizabeth used was embedding needles the girls fingernails.
She also used heated coins, keys or iron to mark the their hands or face.
- Elizabeth also froze her victoms to death, forcing the girls to stand outside in the
snow while she threw cold water on them.
- On occasion, girls were taken outside without clothes, their body were rubbed down with
honey. They were left to stand outside for twenty-four hours while mosquitoes, bees and other
insects pricked at their body.
- Elizabeth would also set fire to the girls hair. Once, she pried open the mouth of one of
her maids so far that it tore apart. Since slaves were not treated the same as free people,
there was no one that they could appeal to for help.
