Vlad's Punishments...
Warning:
The contents of this page are not only disgusting, but are also horrible for children to read. (Even I found them sickening, and I am twentyone years old!) I urge you to stop reading NOW if there are any impressionable youths presently reading at this screen.
Here are the methods of punishment which were enforced by Vlad Tepes.
- As was the custom in Vlad's kingdom, emissaries were to remove their hats as a sign of respect; when they would not follow the custom, Tepes would have their hats nailed to their heads.
- If there were married woman engaging in an affair, maidens who did not keep their virginity, or unchaste widows, Tepes would punish them accordingly. Their sexual organs were cut, then they would were skinned alive and exposed to the public in the square; their skin was either hung from a pole or placed on a table in the middle of the marketplace as a reminder of the punishment for such crimes.
- For lesser offences Tepes had the womans nipple cut off. He would also have a red-hot iron stake inserted into her vagina, allowing it to penetrate her entrails and emerge from her mouth. She would then be tied naked to a pole and left there until "the flesh fell from her body, and the bones detached themselves from their sockets".
- Vlad created a forest of people lining the roads, people who fell victom to his punishments and were impaled while Tepes looked on approvingly. This was the sight which greeted both visitors and invaders at the borders of his country.
- This impalement was accomplished by thrusting poles between the persons buttocks while the body was pulled downwards until the point of the stake appeared through the throat or head of the victim.
- Not all impalements were from the buttocks up. Sometimes a victim would be impaled from the navel, stomach, chest or heart.
- One method of punishment involved tying the legs of a person to two horses. While attendants held a stake and the victim firmly in place, the horses were whipped and made to run in different directions. The victom, inevitably, was ripped in two.
- No-one was immune to Vlad's punishments. Pregnant women, children, the young and old were all staked by him.
- It has been estimated that his victims range in number from anywhere between 40,000 to 100,000.
