This is, I believe, the very first Americanized movie version of Dracula ever made. Do not, however, mistake it for the first vampire movie ever made, for there is one which preceeds it, and that is the German movie Nosferatu. This 1931 version, done completely in black and white, as colour technology was not yet avalible to the film industy, is amazing. There is none of the blood and gore that one would expect from a modern day vampire movie, but the scenes in this film will send shivers down ones spine. I whole-heartedly suggest watching this movie if you are able to find it.
