The Joe Martin AD&D Tournament

The Joe Martin AD&D Tourment to benefit American Cancer Society honors Joe Martin of Henderson, Kentucky. Joe Martin was an avid gamer and a RPGA member who died of cancer in 1986 at the age of 33. Joe helped out at all Evansville conventions and Gen Con. The entry fee is $5. All proceeds will be donated to the American Cancer Society in memory of Joe. Money collected in the American Cancer Society can at the registration desk will also be donated in memory of Joe. The convention Staff and E.G.G. are proud to offer a benefit tournament for such a worthy cause and to honor Joe in this way. We hope it continues to be a success. We hope it contiues to be a success. We also encourage other conventions to adopt similar tournaments.

The Joe Martin Award for Outstanding Gaming will be presented to a gamer at Glathricon every year. The recipient will be a gamer who role-plays well, competes in at least two RPGA tournaments, and exemplifies the spirit of gaming. The recipient will be one who showd good sportsmanship and plays well with other gamers. The recipient, chosen by the convention staff, does not have to win a tournament to be considered for this award. The winners name will be engraved of a plaque that will be displayed at all of the Evansville Gaming Guild's conventions. The winner will receive a certificate and a complimentary membership to next years conventon. The winner's complimentary membership will also include free tourmament preregistration.
