There was a time, long ago in the middle ages when the Assamites hunted freely until they killed to many. Then the hunt was on against them for seven years until their ancient fortress, Alamut was put in danger.. Then is when they asked for peace and had to agree never to kill another for his blood again. Then the great ritual was put upon all members, making it impossible for them to drink the blood of other Kindred.
