Rating: G Category: MSR, V Summary: the morning of a wedding Spoilers; none Meant to be a prequel to 'Something'. The Beatles Files: "Here Comes The Sun" by Christina Shuy cshuy@netcom.com Fox Mulder woke up with the sun shining through the curtains of the room. He sighed as he realised he was alone. The radio played softly, indicating that it was right about time to get up. He'd spent the last night packing up and doing a final check on the apartment he would no longer be needing. Most of his stuff had already been moved or, as in the case of his video collection, given away. Frohike had been delighted to finally get the videos and had taken him out for dinner as thanks. "Here comes the sun, here comes the sun, and I say it's all right" He had things which needed to be done, not the least of which was to get down to the church for a wedding. He didn't want to be late because it was a very special day. "Little darling, it's been a long cold lonely winter Little darling, it feels like years since it's been here Here comes the sun, here comes the sun and I say it's all right" He smiled. After all, it wasn't every day he was going to get married... to the most beautiful woman in his life. The only woman in his life for the last several years. "Little darling, the smiles returning to the faces Little darling, it seems like years since it's been here Here comes the sun, here comes the sun and I say it's all right" He remembered the evening he'd proposed... and the brilliant smile he'd been shown after she'd accepted. Like sunlight on water. And she had wondered what had taken him so long to ask! "Sun, sun, sun, here it comes... Sun, sun, sun, here it comes... Sun, sun, sun, here it comes... Sun, sun, sun, here it comes... Sun, sun, sun, here it comes... Little darling, I feel that ice is slowly melting Little darling, it seems like years since it's been clear Here comes the sun, here comes the sun, and I say it's all right It's all right" As the song ended, he turned off the radio and began to unplug things and straighten other things up. The phone rang and he reached over and picked it up. "Mulder." "It's me. You awake?" Dana Scully's voice smiled. "Hi! Yup. I'm awake." His smile would have blinded anyone in the area had they seen it. "It's the big day." "Yeah, and I didn't sleep too well, especially since there is only the couch and a few things left here." Scully laughed. "Mulder, you slept on that couch for years!" "Yeah, but since I've been sleeping next to you at night, I've slept a lot better. Right now, I think my neck hurts... and I feel awful lonely." "I'll make it up to you tonight, Mulder." she grinned into the phone. "Ooh, Scully... sounds tempting." "I'm not going to go there right now, Mulder. I have to go. Mom's outside waiting to get me to the hairdressers before I get to the church. Don't be late." "Promise." The connection was broken and Mulder grinned. It was the *big* day... and he had a lot to do yet. He hung up the phone and folded the blanket which had just been covering him. There was a knock on the door. Throwing the blanket aside, he went to answer it. It was the moving crew: Skinner and the two Scully brothers. After all, they knew where Dana's new place was. "Ok, Mulder, we're ready." Skinner smiled. They got started moving. -the end for now-
