Category: Story, MSR Summary: Mulder serenades Scully in front of both their mothers. Spoilers: Season 2 only (LGM) Meant to be a direct sequel to The Beatles Files: "Norwegian Wood" The Beatles Files: "Oh! Darling" by Christina Shuy cshuy@netcom.com "Fox, what is it?" Mrs. Mulder asked. "Well... Mom, Mrs. Scully... I asked Dana to marry me this evening and she's agreed." Mulder began to sing from his position on his knees in front of Dana and their mothers as the next song on the radio began. "Oh! Darling, please believe me I'll never do you no harm Believe me when I tell you I'll never do you no harm" Dana looked at Mulder. She felt extremely happy. At the same time, though, she felt like laughing. Mulder was acting... well, like a man in love. 'Which he is... with you, Dana Katherine Scully. Remember the ring on your finger!' her conscience spoke up and she beamed Mulder with a brilliant smile. "Oh! Darling, if you leave me I'll never make it alone Believe me when I beg you Don't ever leave me alone When you told me you didn't need me anymore Well you know I nearly broke down and cried When you told me you didn't need me anymore Well you know I nearly broke down and died" The look in both their eyes said that they both remembered the time the X-Files had been shut down. It had been a dark time for both of them, though Mulder seemed to take it harder as Scully had heard he had been placed on wire-tap duties. Not the most exciting thing in the world, especially after chasing mutants and strange phenomenon. "Oh! Darling, if you leave me I'll never make it alone Believe me when I tell you I'll never do you no harm When you told me you didn't need me anymore Well you know I nearly broke down and cried When you told me you didn't need me anymore Well you know I nearly broke down and died" He got to his feet, took Dana into his arms and sung along with the last bit of the song. "Oh! Darling, please believe me I'll never let you down Believe me when I tell you I'll never do you no harm" "That's wonderful!" Mrs. Mulder's smile was gentle yet bright. "Yes, it is. ANd I trust you will take care of my baby girl." "Always... even if she *can* kick my butt." "And often does, Mulder." Dana grinned. Mulder's mother smiled warmly. She was glad in her heart that her dear son had finally found someone who dearly loved him. "Come, now... this calls for a celebration. Come in and sit down. I'll get something." Margaret Scully said. "We have a wedding to plan." They all sat down. The planning for the wedding began. -the end-
