One month later...
     Samantha Mulder, and her niece and nephew, presided over the 
setting of the joint monument.  It was a small, quiet gathering, with 
only immediate family and friends.  They approached the site where her 
brother and sister-in-law were buried and the workers who had just 
finished setting the marker in place nodded to them before leaving the 
family of the deceased in peace.

     Dana Katherine Scully		Fox William Mulder
     Beloved wife, mother,              Devoted son, father, 
      and daughter.                      and husband.
    "The Truth shall set you free."    "The Truth is out there."

    As Samantha read over the individual gravemarkers, she felt the mist 
of tears in her eyes.  Thinking about having lost both of them in so 
short a time was still quite an emotional experience.
     Though they had only found Samantha shortly before Mrs. Mulder had
passed away peacefully, though quite a while since the menace that had
been Cancerman had gone, the family bond that had been between Mulder
siblings was still very much there.  At times, it had felt like they had 
not been separated at all.
     "Aunt Samantha, it's time..." Michelle noted quietly.
     "We would like to thank you for coming..." Samantha Mulder began in 
a quiet voice.
     The marker was simple.  It lay centered at the top of both 
gravestones and was a simple marble affair with their immediate family 
tree inscribed, as well as a song.

  "Oh yeah, all right
   Are you going to be in my dreams
   Tonight?

   And in the end

   Is equal to the love you make."

     Above them, in the tranquility that was the afterlife, Dana 
Katherine Scully and Fox William Mulder watched as their immediate family 
paid respects as they themselves waited their next turns on the planet 
below in each other's arms and each other's lives and hearts.  They had 
also seen a glimpse of the future and were both delighted and eager to 
watch what would happen.
