Disclaimer: Fox Mulder, Dana Scully, and associated characters are property of Chris Carter, Ten-Thirteen Productions and Fox Broadcasting Corporation. They are used without permission, as I can't afford to get permission. I'm not planning to make any money from this story anyway. Once again, the song belongs to Lennon/McCartney and the Beatles. I'm just borrowing the song because I thought it would be cute. Any elements not recognized as being taken from the television show copyright Christina Shuy. Usually not much... if anything. Comments and other things are much apprieciated and can be sent to cshuy@netcom.com. I like email, so please reply! I'll do what I can about responding to any replies. Rating: G (and S for silly) Category: Series... along with the others... that are writing themselves, apparently. =) Summary: Mulder and Scully on the Submarine Voyage at Disneyland. Spoilers; nope... none here. This next installment of the series can be put anywhere in the timeline I'm apparently setting up in my head. I don't know where it's going yet, but I'll let you know as soon as I do! This is just a silly piece. The Beatles Files: "Yellow Submarine" by Christina Shuy cshuy@netcom.com The case had ended early and in thanks, the grateful mother they had gone to help in Southern California had given them tickets to Disneyland and, as they had no other plans, they went. "That was really nice of Mrs. Lambert to give us these tickets... especially considering we did ruin some of her family life by discovering that her husband was a sociopath who was also going under several other aliases..." Mulder pulled into a parking space and then stretched to get out of the car as Scully shut off her laptop and saved the report she had already finished writing. "Yeah, it was... I didn't know Disneyland was open all the time... this should be fun. Was your father stationed here when you were younger? You have probably been here a lot of times, Scully." "Mulder, I haven't been to Disneyland in ages!" "Well, I've never been... this should be fun." Mulder's grin was boyish and very infectious. Before long, Scully found herself grinning right along with her partner. "Can we go on the Submarine Voyage? There doesn't seem to be a line." Scully said. They raced up to the front of the ride and then got on board the gaudy but nicely done ride. The infectious 'child-like' aura had taken hold and Scully felt as though she were 10 years old at her first time at Disneyland again as the ride started. She started to sing, softly. "In the town where I was born Lived a man who sailed to sea And he told us of his life In the land of submarines So we sailed up to the sun Till we found the sea of green And we lived beneath the waves In our yellow submarine" Mulder listened, amused, and then decided to join her, his voice harmonising with hers most beautifully. "We all live in our yellow submarine, Yellow submarine, yellow submarine We all live in our yellow submarine, Yellow submarine, yellow submarine" Dana turned to look at her partner and best friend, who was already looking at her. Flashing him a bright smile which he returned with equal brilliance, they continued singing, much to the amusement of the rest of the people on the ride, some of whom actually joined in! And our friends are all on board Many more of them live next door And the band begins to play We all live in our yellow submarine, Yellow submarine, yellow submarine We all live in our yellow submarine, Yellow submarine, yellow submarine The prerecorded narrative that went along with the ride was drowned out by the sound of more than ten voices, all singing the happy song from a band from Liverpool, England in the 1960s. As we live a life of ease Everyone of us has all we need Sky of blue and sea of green In our yellow submarine. We all live in our yellow submarine, Yellow submarine, yellow submarine We all live in our yellow submarine, Yellow submarine, yellow submarine We all live in our yellow submarine, Yellow submarine, yellow submarine We all live in our yellow submarine, Yellow submarine, yellow submarine The submarine bumped up against the dock as the ride ended and the passengers applauded and some were laughing. Mulder helped Scully off the ride as everyone else who had already disembarked had done so with the brightest smile on their faces. "That was fun... " Fox turned to Dana and said, the boyish grin appearing again and making Fox Mulder appear young again. "Come on, I'll race you to Space Mountain!" Dana said, laughing at the silliness of what had just happened on the Submarine Voyage. "You're on!" -end... maybe?- Ok, so it's silly... what are you expecting from me at 1AM on a Friday morning?? =) *goes off in search of her next story idea humming "Yellow Submarine"...* ;)
