Note: if you've not seen 'Paperclip', this story probably won't make much sense to you... Also, it's rated G. First of all, the elevator is a really cramped place to go all out NC-17 (or even R!). Secondly, he only lives on the fourth floor, for crying out loud... It's a short ride to the ground... which explains why this story is so short too. *grin* Disclaimer: Fox Mulder and Dana Scully belong to the X-Files, Chris Carter, Ten-Thirteen Productions, and Fox Broadcasting Corporation. (Rated G) by Christina Shuy cshuy@netcom.com "Mulder, I went to your father's funeral... I told your mother you were going to be alright." "How did you know?" Mulder asked, incredulus. "I just knew..." Scully said, just as the elevator doors opened and she walked into the waiting car. Mulder walked into the elevator after Scully and the doors slid shut behind him. Suddenly, Mulder found Scully in his arms, holding onto him with a mixture of relief and joy. "Scully...?" Mulder's voice was a question. She hadn't held onto him this tightly since the incident with Donny Pfaster, and that was only after she'd been traumatised. At the time, he could feel the fear, stress, and tension that was very tightly wound in his partner's demeanor and it hurt him because she was his best friend and she was hurt and there wasn't much he felt he could do. This time, however, this time was different. There was only silence between them, but Mulder could feel Scully's relief at finding him alive and well. She even had to smile at HOW her realization was verified... by him bursting in on her holding a gun on Skinner inside _his_ apartment... at the same time Skinner was holding a gun on her as well. Fortunately, it had all ended without anyone getting hurt. He smiled into her hair. "I'm glad to see I was right, Mulder." she murmured, letting go of him as the elevator doors opened on the ground floor of the apartment building. Turning to him before she started out of the elevator, she punched him on the arm. "Just try not to do that to me again, okay? You had me really worried!" "Ow..." Mulder rubbed where he'd been smacked. It was the same side where she'd shot him in the shoulder a while back. "Okay... next time I come back from the dead, I'll tell you the moment I get the chance." "That's not funny, Mulder!" "I know it isn't... and I'm sorry I didn't let you know sooner... even though you knew anyway." Scully sighed. "Okay... fine. Now, where are we going?" "We have a few things to track down..." he said, as they both started out of the elevator. "First place we're headed is to the Lone Gunmen..." -End of Scene- So... opinions? What did you think?
