The Crow
Abouts Crows
Little seems to be known about crows. They are mystical creatures that have been worshiped and feared for centuries.
There are many differant kinds of crow... from the raven, that is as black a night,to the jackdaw, who has bright colored plummage.
Here are a few facts that i have learned about crows:
1.They mate for life
2.They can live until they are about 40 years old
3.They are great parents, teaching their young everything they need to know BEFORE they are allowed to leave the nest
4.Juvenile crows can stay in the parental nest for over a year
5.Juvenile crows live in large groups for up to 5 years until they find a mate.
The Crow Spirit...Mystic and Myth
The crow/ raven is my animal guide through life. He is a real crow, he has a habit of waking me up if he thinks i am running late :) Crow is basically cool. In Scotland, Crows seem to be feared. Three crows sitting together on the roof of a house means a death. A single crow sitting above your door means the crow is awaiting your soul to take to the underworld. In Scotland and some parts of Europe, the crow is a symbolism of witchcraft, paganism, and the Devil.
However, over in America, the Native People think the opposite of crows. Some beleive that crows are all seeing and all knowing. Many believe that the crow is the guardian to the soul. The Crow has mant talents:
Guardian of the place before existence
Carrier of souls from darkness into light
Working without fear in darkness
Guidance while working in shadow
Moves freely in the void
Understands all things related to ethics
Shapeshifter
Not bad for a big black bird huh?
