Shadow of the Moon, Sea of the Shadow [Yoko arc] Chapters 1-14

The first arc concerns the journey of Nakajima Yoko from Kei to En in effort to return home. Along the way, she meets many different people and makes very valuable friendships with Rakushun, Shoryu, Enki and Keiki. She also learns a very valuable lesson about herself and realises that she is truly a good and worthy person.

Sea of the Wind, Shore of the Labrynth [Taiki arc] Chapters 15-21

The second arc concerns the story of Taiki, who was mentioned a few times in the previous arc. It is the story about how Taiki was brought to the other world, his story of growing up as a kirin, his friendship with Keiki and his choosing of an emperor. It also is about his present life in Japan and his struggle with the repressed memories of being a kirin.

A Thousand Miles of Wind, The Sky of Dawn [Suzu/Shoukei/Yoko arc] Chapters 23-39

The third and final arc describes the trials of three women - Suzu [a kaikyaku turned sage] and her struggle to get back to Japan with the help of the Empress of Kei, Shoukei [the former princess of Hou] and her plan for revenge upon the Empress of Kei who gained everything Shoukei lost, and Yoko and her struggle with betrayal and trying to learn about the politics and life in the new world - whose paths are destined to meet.
