Sennin are immortal hermits who live on Mt. Hou [Houki] and take care of the Kirins as they grow up. They are immortal and have really cool hair and outfits.

Others include gang-members, teachers, half-beasts, youma, spirits and other important characters that pop up throughout the series.

Rakushun - Okay, he is a very important character. He is the first person that Yoko can fully trust in the new world other than Keiki [who is basically kidnapped during pretty much the whole of Shadow of the Moon, Sea of the Shadow arc]. Rakushun is a half-beast which means he is half beast [in his case, rat] and half human. This also means that the Emperor of Kou hates him, but he pretty much hates everyone. He is also pretty cute in his human form, I must say. Rakushun, other than just being a good friend to have around, is a 22-year old would-be university student [again, if Kou-sama wasn't such a little prick]. Later, he becomes a university student in En thanks to Yoko and their connections with the oh-so-yummie Emperor of En. He later befriends Shoukei [the ex-princess of Hou] and helps her realise what a pitiful, whiny excuse for a human-being [er...or whatever] she is. I love Rakushun. Him and his little leaf umbrella. The cutest thing ever, really.

Hinman - I just have to take a moment and chuckle at the name. Hinman is the name of our business-service honours program. Makes me think that they are all possessed. Anyway...the Hinman in question is the one that possesses Yoko at Keiki's demand so she can fight and kill youma and be all bad-ass and shit like that. he obediently stays inside her, kicking into action when she needs to kick some major booty. He also encourages Yoko when she believes she is worthless and incapable. He tells her that he knows her true nature [spoiler ----->] and that she should ascend the throne of Kei and become empress because he knows she has the ability to become a great leader.

Suiguuto [The Royal Blade of Kei] - The sword that Yoko carries around with her. When the sword ia around water, it shows the wielder illusions. If the wielder can control the sword, it shows them the truth. The past, the present and the distant. If the user cannot control the sword, they see illusions. The sheath of the sword is possessed by a demon-monkey. The monkey tries to get Yoko to kill herself [because she has nothing left to live for and everyone hates her] before she is able to finally defeat him and control the illusions. The sword is also how she finds out about the previous empress' actions regarding Keiki and reveals that he was the man the empress was in love with when she banished/killed all women in the palace [which resulted in Keiki being punished with the Shidotsu].

Gouchou - These are nasty little bitches, really. These eagle-like youma [at least the ones that attack Yoko] are the minions of Kourin. They're big, they're ugly and they are going to eat you, Shoyru. Oh, what's that? You have a really big sword? You are the baddest mother-fucker around? Oh, sorry. We'll be over here preening...

Sekki [The Hot Gang Member] - A former student of Keiki's friend, Enho. Started a gang with his brother, Koshou, to avenge the deaths of their loved-ones at the hands of Shouku. I also think Suzu kinda had a thing for him [I mean, the kid does look an awful lot like Shoryu...if Shoyru was like, 15...]. He also kept his cronies from attacking Yoko because he knew she was carrying a sword. Good ears, dog-boy...

Shoushi [Sennin #1] - She is the sennin who befriends Enki and tells him the horrible little story about the village being destroyed and all of the children dying and how she held up the temple pillar for days and prayed for the gods to take her away to Mt. Hou. Then Enki cried and lost his beautiful little mind. She also layed the smack-down on then sennin-in-training Teitei when she tried to touch Enki. Heh, eat that, bitch. That'll teach that immortal hermit newbie to touch my beautiful little Enki...

Youka [Sennin #2] - Okay, this is the one who befriends Taiki and falls in love with Gyousou which causes Taiki to choose him as Emperor. Bad move, kid [or not...]. We don't hear much of her after that. She tells the story and that's about it. Poor Taiki, he really liked her, too. Way to break a Kirin's heart and make him fear being struck down by heaven's wrath...

Shoukei - She is the spoiled former princess of Hou. Her father rather liked executing people, and as such, Hourin was stricken with the Shidotsu and the Emperor, Empress and Hourin were killed in front of Shoukei by ___ in a coup. He then revoked the vain Shoukei's contract of immortality and sent her to a rike. When the residents of the rike found out her true identity, they tried to quarter her, but ___ stepped in and saved her life. Shoukei was then sent to Kyou as a servant where she robbed the Empress. Kyouki was later bitch-smacked for it.
