Paganism
The
pentacle is usually seen as a symbol of evil or devil
worshipping, or satanic.
In reality the pentacle is only satanic if it's hung
upside down, if it is upright with the
point towards the sky, then it symbolizes life.
The five points of the star symbolize
: Earth,Air,Water, Fire, and Spirit.
The circle around the pentacle represents
the never
ending cycle of life ,or eternity.

CANDLE ANNOINTING
Annoint your candle with the oil that
you have chosen. This is by
placing a little of the oil on
your fingertips. Grasp the candle at its midpoint
with your left index finger and
thumb, and use your right index finger and
thumb to stroke oil on the
candle from the midpoint up to the top of the
candle. Next, grasp the candle at its
midpoint with your right index finger and
thumb, and use your left index finger
and thumb to stroke oil on the candle
from the midpoint down to the bottom of
the candle. Continue in this fashion
until the entire candle has been annointed.
Charging A Candle With Your
Energy
While ritually annointing your candle,
visualize a pure white beam of light
coming up from Mother Earth, entering
your body through the soles of your
feet and another beam of
white light coming down from the Universe and
entering your body through
the top of your head. Envision the energy of
these
beams of light flowing throughout your body and mingling
together,finally concentrating in
your hands, causing them to feel warm and
to tingle. Now continue to stroke
your candle until you feel the energy from
your hands transfer to the
candle. Your candle is now charged with your
personal energy and magickal intent.
Empowering
To empower a stone, place it in
your left hand (your right
hand, if left-handed) and place against your "third eye" chakra
(this is located on your forehead between your eyebrows). Now
concentrate strongly on what power you want the stone to have (to
help you quit smoking, to bring peace, to attract success, to draw
love, etc.). You may wish to verbalize this, such as "amethyst, I
empower you with the ability to help me quit smoking", or
"aventurine, I empower you with the ability to draw good luck to
me", etc. When you feel the stone has been properly empowered,
it is ready for use in your magick.
Writing Your Own Spell Or
Ritual
To first make your own spell or ritual,
you must know what your purpose is
and how it is to be done. Your ritual
is a request to the Gods and Goddesses.
Write your work in a notebook or
your BOS ( Book Of Shadows). I would
write it out first then place it
in my BOS. But do what suits you best. Date
when you wrote it also. Keep a
list of references, such as books or web sites
you use for writing your rituals.
You will find your own style as you go along.
You will have to see about the
Moon phases and the days of the week to see
when your rituals or spells should
be done. If you have to choose between the
days or the Moon phases, the Moon
is the most important to consider. For
the rough draft and final copy,
you must keep in mind the Wiccan Rede if
you are a Wiccan.
1) make sure personal greed is not the influence
2) How will this request impact your life
3) what is the use for the thing your desire
4) How much surface harm is there (your friends, family, etc)
5) The intent of the ritual - keeping in mind that ALL
traditions have a for of Karmanic law.
MAGICK NAMES
Most Pagans or Witches have a magick name.
Many magick
names might be a public craft name that others in your coven,
if you are not solitaire, use when at gatherings. Some people do
not like to share their magickal names with others cause they
feel it is only between them and the Goddess and God.
But a craft name is not necessary.
A magickal name is a symbol of devotion
to your practice. The magick name
will also help you to separate you from
your everyday life.
The reason to have a magickal name is to represent the
witch/pagan side of you. A craft name can make you feel more
powerful or mystical, rather than an everyday name.
Once you've
chosen your name there are plenty of things to do with
it. Always use your Craft name in ritual, whether in Coven or
Solitaire. Use
it in prayer and rituals. Write it on your tools. You may
wish to
do a ritual to ask the God and Goddess and the Old Ones to
recognize you by your new name.
