is the internet a load of overhyped rubbish?

Before I take the gloves off and get my hands nice and dirty, I would like to acknowledge what I consider the delicious irony of publishing this article on my web site.

The Internet: you're reading it now, and so are probably one of my good for nothing student mates, as no one else will really bother reading this, because it's just vanity publishing for people like me, with a high ego to talent ratio, and no hope of actually getting published in a real magazine, and actually getting paid.

That last paragraph doesn't really make sense, but what I'm trying to say is that most of the html form junk that you ingest everyday, mainly because you get the internet free as a student, is just written by some fool like me, and the rest is just adverts.

We hear talk of global villages and that kind of stuff, but in reality the internet is a finely balanced combination of the crap and the commercial.

I can't be bothered to take this argument any further, so I'll leave you with a quote from El-P of Company Flow: "Believe when I rock even Spock'll catch feelings"

Over and Out,

Tobias Flinch
