are students a waste of good oxygen?
Being a student myself (but not a fucking arts student) it could be argued that I am far too biased to really answer this question. In response to this I say: yeah probably, but the internet is the new vanity publishing, and in vanity publishing only one person gets to write.
Most middle class kids, if they have some ability to read and write, get to go to university, for three years, usually. The tax payer, since Tory Blair (this is not a typo) came in, funds less of this than it used to, but it still funds some: why?
As a student I have spent two years trying to get laid and get drugs, with limited success, occasionally spending an hour or two learning some entirely pointless academic theories: this is surely not atypical. At the end of it I will be given a piece of paper which says I have a degree. I certainly intend to stay in education for the full term, as it's quite good fun, but will the wider world have gained anything? Will it fuck.
Over and Out,
