Magius' Palm Reading Lessons
Lesson No. 3: The Nine Mounts
Now that you know the basic hand shapes it's time to move on to a more advanced part of palm reading. On your hand there are nine mounts. Mounts are like tiny cushions under the skin on the palm of your hand, creating the appearance of "lumps" on your palm. In this lesson you will lean the location of each mount, as well as what the mounts mean.
The Mount of Jupiter: The mount of Jupiter lies just below the index finger. It tells you about your self confidence. If the mount here is large it means you are mature and can cope well with whatever happens in your life. If it's enormous it could mean that you're bossy! Alternatively, if the mount looks flat and non-existant, it could be that you lack confidence. If that is so, find out which other areas in the palm are well developed as this will show you where the person's talents lie. When you find these, being proud of their abilities should help boost the person's morale.
The Mount of Saturn: The mount of Saturn is located beneath your middle finger. It deals with your sense of responsiblility and, of all of the mounts in the hand, this is the one that should be underdeveloped. The flatter it, the more pleased the person should be. If it looks built up, check that what you're looking at isn't, in fact, part of the other mounts on either side of it, which might be leaning over into this area. When the area is highly padded it reveals a person who tends to be a misery or a wet blanket.
The Mount of Apollo: The mount of Apollo is located below the ring finger.People with a well rounded mount of Apollo are blessed with a sunny disposition. They also tend to be very creative. If the area is flat, it means the person is uninterested in the arts. If the area is huge, however, it suggests the person is snobby or big-headed.
The Mount of Mercury: The mount of Mercury lise beneath the little finger. It deals with several things. It represents communications, interests in scientific subjects and money. If the mercury mount is large, it means the person is warm and friendly and loves talking to people. If the mount is the largest of the mounts, it suggests the person is a terrible chatter box (although, by this point of the reading that should already be qiote apparent). Anyone who's mount of Mercury is flat probably lacks a sense of humour.
The Mount of Upper Mars: The mount of Upper Mars lies directly below the mount of Mercury. When this mount is well padded it reveals people with staying power who don't give up easily. these people have what is known as moral integrity. They have courage of their own convictions and will put up with alot of hassle to be true to their beliefs. People who's mount of Upper Mars is underdeveloped find it hard to cope under pressure.
The Mount of Lower Mars: The mount of Lower Mars is found just abover the place where the thumb joins onto the palm (it's above the mount of Venus, an extremely large mount located at the bottom of the thumb). The mount of Lower Mars is directly below the mount of Jupiter, yet a little ways down from it. This area represents physical strength and courage. Someone with a good mount here is brave. A lack of a mount or even a hollow suggests someone who is timid. If this area is thickly padded and stands up high it reveals someone who is aggressive. People with this type of developement should be sure to play lots of sports to channel their physical energies and ager into physical workouts and not take out their anger on other people.
The Mount of Venus: The mount of Venus is below the mount of Lower Mars. It is near the bottom of the palm closest to your thumb. It is usually a large, well padded area. When the area is well developed and springey to touch it reveals a healthy vitality. Someone with this type of mount has alot of energy and can bounce back quickly after an illness. if this area is a bit flabby, it means the person is lazy. If it looks pale and weak, the person's health could be delicate. This can also reveal someone who is standoffish and selfish. But if this area is huge, the person is very passionate and tends to go over the top with everything that they do.
The Mount of Neptune: The mount of Neptune is at the base of the palm. It use usually underdeveloped, but when it is developed it shows a popular person who gets on well with everyone.
The Mount of Luna: The mount of luna is found at the bottom of the palm, opposite the thumb. This mount represents information, sensitivity, and intuition. When it is overdeveloped and stands up high, it hints at a silly person who is flighty and moody. If the area is flat the person lacks immagination. A nicely rounded, springey mount is found on someone who is a good writer or who loves music and poetry. A very interesting form of this mount can be found. It is when the mount developes so low down that it overhangs the wrist and pushes the crease mark down. When it is formed like this, it means that the person has a natural rhythem and is a factastic dancer. Models often have this type of mount and they, of course, carry themselves with wonderful poise which is part and parcel of this natural body rhythem.
