Magius' Palm Reading Lessons

Lesson No. 8: Finger Phalanges

Phalange are the bones that make up your fingers. Each finger has three of them, named the base, middle and nail sections. Depending on the length and which finger it belongs to each section can tell you something about how the person uses their talents.

On the outline you have made of the person's hand in lessons four and fivem draw three divisions on each finger where the knuckles are on their fingers. Draw one line where the finger meets the palm, one at the second knuckle, and one at the knuckle below the finger nail. Now take a ruler and measure each of the 12 phalanges (there are three on each of the four fingers). Begin with the top phalange, measuring from the fingertip down to the line dividing off that phalange (the line draw where the knuckle below the finger nail is), then from that line down the the next one, and from that one down to the lowest knuckle line at the top of the palm. Write the measurements down the outline, inside each finger division.

Which of the three sets of phalanges in your hand are the longest - those at the top, in the middle, or at the base of the fingers? Which are the shortest?

The Top Phalanges - If the top phalanges are longer than the middle or base phalanges it means that you are a thinker. Long top phalanges belong to people who like studying, are good at academic subjects at school, and really enjoy looking up facts when they have a project to do. They're not necessarily very practical people, however. For exampe someone with long top phalanges may know everything there is to know about art and artists, but if it came to actually painting a portrait he or she may be completely useless.
If the top phalanges are note the longest sections of the person's fingers, it means that while they probably cope very well with yuor lessons, learning and fact-finding may not be at the to pof your list of favorite pursuits. Look at the next two sets to find out which areas you personally excell in.

The Middle Phalanges - If the middle phalanges are the longest of the three, it means that the person is a terrific organizer and is brilliant at sorting out people and problems. Because they're so capable and able to find a practical solution to every situation, you'll probably make a success of whatever you choose to do in life. People who have a good head for buisness and are efficient workers often have long middle phalanges. They're very good at presenting their work neatly and getting it done with little fuss. They're also brilliant at managing money.
If a person's middle phalanges are the shortest, they could try to take a more practical approach - aim to be a little tidier and more disciplined in their work.

The Basal Phalanges - If the basal phalanges are the longest this tells you that the person is is most likely a very physical type of person. They're often hard working and don't mind getting their hands dirty. Many of them excel in sports and make a very good career for themselves that way. The greatest thing about these people is that they have a tremendous appreciation of the good things in life. For example, some of the most brilliant chefs, and owners of high class restaurants have these long well-developed basal phalanges. Alternatively, they might be lovers of beautiful things such as paintings, jewelry, or antiques, and become famous collectors.
If, however, a person's basal phalanges are short, it could mean that you're not a particularly physically active person, or that material things aren't important to your happiness.
