MUSIC:

1978: The Amps - first group doing mostly originals. I was lead singer and songwriter.

52 - drummer for mid-seventies experimental reunion band

Metal Dharma - Began recording breaking things, bass and

piano, drums, vocals with Susan Ellis

The Jelly Beans, The Red Buses, Zic and the Zargons, The Wall Sockets (one time singer) - One gig wonder bands supporting out of towners - Toy Love,

The Plague, Blam, Blam, Blam. The Andband with George Henderson Spies at Cuba Mall Sunday jams.

1979-1981: Shoes This High- Produced the Anti Violence Dances EP, played

at psychiatric hospitals, DIY recorded EP fostered technical vinyl innovations in NZ

1981-1982: Smelly Feet - Applied dreams, bits of diaries into song lyrics, jestering compositions.

2 EP's, 1 single, 1 tape, made first film clip.

1982-1986: The Kiwi Animal - began recording and producing LP albums which were taking the studio recording equipment to onsite environments for in the field productions in silo's, multi carparks, church and synagogue. Wood chopping installation ritual for ANZART in old shopping mall. Began working with Video, developed a series of sound-sculpture-theatre-installations on subjects of "Wolf Society", "Blind Future" and "The Past Is War". Held event in Red Metro Art Gallery where audience was handed tape machines and taped cassettes to playback moving around the space, OHP's projecting words onto those who entered the space. Began exploring 'massively parallel word combinatorics' and 'five word permutations'. 3 radio shows devoted to this material. 1 compilation LP and 3 albums, 01 EP, 2 compilation tapes and 1 tape, 1 book and 2 comics produced.

INVENTIONS INCORPORATED INTO FILM AND VIDEO:

1986-1991 - CVI mixing into video tapes

1988 - Synchro-tech braintuner eyewear

1987 - Sponsored the building of Dr. Reich's Orgone Radiation Box

1989 - Kurtzweil reading machine with own text for 'Slick'

1986-1990 - Fairlight SFX machine for soundtracks incl. soon to be released 'Uranian Folk Film', which took 1 year of Saturday nights to complete recordings incorporating wall to wall heavily layered sound and noise.

1991-1997 - Utilising old NZBC 16mm filmstock used to shoot off monitors for a 43 minute video entitled 'The Confessions Of Johnny Barcode', all film processed in DIY home made forced exposure laboratory
 

AWARDS:

1995 - $10,000 from Creative New Zealand to make 'Manawanui'

1998 - $2,000 for winning 'My Queer Career' competition, Steven Cummins Award, Sydney

1998 - First prize in Poetry Slam, Sydney
