Khalsa Camp 1997




The Khalsa camp is a non profit making venture. If any businesses or individuals wish to make a donation however small, please contact me by e-mail with your name and telephone number.
At present the location of the Khalsa Camp 1997 has not been decided, or indeed the date and length as we are currently checking a few selected venues. When, by the Grace of God the venue and date are confirmed all information will be available on this si te. If you have not attended any of the previous camps I will give you a brief summary of the camp program and if you feel there is something that we should incorporate into the next camp then please E-mail me at [email protected] .


Last years camp attracted over 280 visitors from all over the world including USA, Canada, Malaysia and Europe. It provides the ideal uplifting experience in the company of fellow Gursikhs in an atmosphere that is second to none. The Khalsa Camp provides the perfect venue where young and old meet to inspire and uplift one another on the path of Sikhi. The programme involves a combination of Sikh historical, religous, spiritual and cultural education. There will be talks, discussions, seminars and hands o n experience of Kirtan, Nam-Simran and Gurbani recitation. Workshops will include gatka, kirtan, tabla and meditation.


Other activities include nature walks (weather permitting), visits to local attractions, indoor and outdoor sports including:


A separate camp, within the main camp will be held for young Sikhs aged 10yrs - 14yrs, specifically designed with the interests, abilities and concerns of this age group in mind. Emphasis will be placed on activities, projects, role-playing and role model s as well as talks and discussions.

Accomodation is normally in students hall of residence and separate quarters are provided for males and females. These are normally modern self contained rooms with a washbasin and tea and coffee making facilities available in adjoining kitchenettes. Prev iously there have also been rooms available for families.Access to bathroom and showers will be also available. Also last year there was also a creche available for children aged 4yrs - 9yrs, ran by fully qualified staff.
