Buffy Summers (Sarah Michelle Gellar)

She is the " Chosen One", the slayer. She and her mom moved to Sunnydale several years ago, Buffy hoped that in moving here she could leave slaying vampires behind her. She found, however, that they had moved onto the Hellmouth a center of mystical convergance. She had no choice but to continue being the slayer, for she is the only one who can fight back the dark forces that are drawn to this place. She is friends with Willow Rosenberg and Xander Harris, to school outcasts, who are among the few who know of her true identity as the slayer. Her boyfriend is an ancient vampire named Angel. A vampire slayer in love with a vampire, what a mix. Angel is a vampire with a human soul, thanks to a gypsy curse laid upon him decades ago. Her former watcher, mentor, and friend is Rupert Giles. He was fired from being her watcher because he was too close to her. Her current watcher is Wesley. Buff has indured alot since moving to the Hellmouth; she has died, been revived, lost her boyfriend to evil, and gotten him back. It has been a rough couple of years and in spite of it she has managed to hold up quite wellBuffy has alot to deal with between school, her social life, and fighting back demons.
 

Willow Rosenberg (Alyson Hannigan)

Willow is best friends with Buffy Summers and Xander Harris. She refers to herself as a "Slayerette", being that she tends to help Buffy fight off the darkness that plagues not so fair Sunnydale. She is very talented with computers, science, and math. Just last year she discoved that she has a talent for withcraft, as well. She has begun boning up on the craft and perfecting her skills at it. For many years she has had a crush on Xander, only to find her feelings never returned. Many things have changed over time, though , including her realtionship with Xander. She has begun dating a boy who is crazy about her named Oz and found that Xander has finally begun to explore some of those feelings that he has found to have for her. She cares for both a great deal and has to figure out what she really wants. Oz may be the one, but who can tell for sure with Willow.Who will she choose?
 

Xander Harris (Nicolas Brendan)

He is best friends with Buffy Summers and Willow Rosenberg. He too is a "Slayerette" and is one of the few who knows that Buffy is the vampire slayer. He has had a crush on Buffy since she arrived in Sunnydaly. Most recently he has begun to explore the feelings he has for longtime friend Willow, this at an inopportune time being he was dating Cordelia Chase at the time. When Cordy and Willow's boyfriend Oz discovered their affair, Cordy was injured, though not fatally, in an accident. He and Cordelia, subsequently, broke up and the affair with Willow ended without much closure. He has a thing for slayers and was also with Faith for a brief amount of time, until she tried to kill him. He is quite unlucky in love, but perseveres and keeps trying. He has been invaluable at times helping with research and fighting demons, though not very well. He saved Buffy's life by giving her CPR after she was killed by the Master.
 

Angel/Angelus (David Boreanaz)

His true name is Angelus, meaning "the one with the Angelic Face". He has been a vampire for over 400 years. About 80 years ago, after killing the most beloved daughter of a gypsy tribe, he was cursed by the elders and his human soul was returned. His human soul overtook the demon one within him and he now has to live as a sortof, human vampire. He has the urges of a vampire, but a human soul within him. He is in love with Buffy, the vampire slayer. Not an easy relationship to say the least. Feeling love and true happiness at any moment in his life can cause the curse to be lifted and the demon soul within to be released. The curse was lifted once, when he consumated his relationship with Buffy. He then returned to his former ways and became a terrible monster, who terrorized all those that he once cared for. he tried to release the demon Akafla, which would have caused the other to be sucked into hell. In order to stop him, they tried to restore his soul, and succeeded, only it was too late. He had to be sacrificed and drawn into the demon dimension in order to prevent armageddon. He spent several months there, but it was more the equivalant to a few hundred years. He has spent the time since his return, trying to recover from his experiences and figuring out why he was sent back. He is still in love with Buffy, though there relationship can not lead to anything physical, as they both now know.
 

Oz (Seth Green)

 He is Willow's boyfriend and an honorary "Slayerette". He is also a werewolf, this was caused when his 3 month old nephew , who is a werewolf, bit him on the finger. He juggles playing guitar in his band, high school, dating Willow, and locking hisself up three nights a month when the moon is full. He is a very laid back cool kind of guy who doesn't tend to say much. He and Willow almost broke up due to her affair with Xander, but he was able to forgive her and they have resummed dating.
 

Cordelia Chase (Charisma Carpenter)

One word to describe Cordy is a snob. She feels everyone is beneath her and that includes everyone she hangs out with. She began to hang out with Buffy and company because she kept getting caught up in the events that pervade the town of Sunnydale. It was half out of the wrong place at the wrong time and partly because she needed  somone to protect her from attacks by various vampires, witches, and demons. For a while she slummed and dated Xander, mostly because she thought he was sexy when he was in the fray of things fighting demons and such. That relationship ended when she caught Willow and Xander kissing in the episode Lover's Walk. She was terribly hurt by this, because she cared for Xander a great deal. She broke up with him and their relationship has been one of enimity ever since. She has the hots for the new watcher of Buffy's Wesley right now, even though he is older than she is.
 

Rupert Giles (Anthony Stewart Head)

He was Buffy's watcher up until the episode Helpless when he was fired for having too paternal and attachment to Buffy. He was replaced by Wesley. He is a very stern, dignified, and stuffy. This wasn't always the case, as a young man he was quite wild, which earned him the nick name of "Ripper". He wa in love with computer teacher Jenny Calender, who was killed by Angel when his demon soul reclaimed him and he became the evil Angelus. He has been quite distraut over Jenny's death and is just no beginning to forgive Angel for what happened. He does love Buffy like a father, and treats her like his child, student, and friend. In and episode called Band Candy he was wiith Buffy's mother. Which creeped Buffy out to no end.
 

Joyce Summers (Christine Sutherland)

She is the mother of the slayer . She spent a great deal in denial about what was going on in her daughter's life. When Buffy finally revealed to her that she was the Slayer, she threw her out of the house, a decision she would later regret. She is learning to deal with the fact that her daughter is a slayer and the fear that she might be harmed. It has been rough for her, but she is trying to adapt. In the episode Band Candy, she and Giles had a one night stand or something to that effect. They still can't look each other in the eye over it. They were out of control of senses, so one can almost understand their shame. Not really, but what the heck.
 

Faith (Eliza Dushku)

Faith was the slayer called to replace Kendra upon her death. Her first appearance was in the episode called Faith, Hope, and Trick. She arrived in Sunnydale after her watcher was killed by a demon by the name of Kakistos. With the help of Buffy she was able to vanquish Kakistos before he managed to kill her. Giles was her watcher up until the time he was fired, then her watcher became Wesley. Faith has from the beginning been wild, unpredictable, and untamed. She does as she pleases and relishes her role as slayer. In the episode Bad Girls she went too far and killed a human, by the name of Alan Finch. She showed no remorse for this and all attempts at intervention by her friends failed. She became the Mayor's right-hand man after the death of Mr. Trick, in the following episode Consequences. Her double-agent scheme was revealed in the episode Enemies.
 

Kendra ( Bianca Lawson)

She was the slayer who was called to replace Buffy when she "died" at the hands of the Master. Buffy was only dead for a few moments, but it still counted and a new slayer was called. She came to help when the Order of Taraka came to attack Buffy and Spike and Dru were trying to restore her strength by killing Angel. Her first appearance was What's my line Part 1. She was killed by Drusilla in the episode called Becoming Part 1. She was quite unlike Buffy in that she was quite disciplined and by the book, which helped she and Giles get along quite well.
 

Spike (James Marsters)

His real name is William and he is one of the cruelest vampires that has ever existed. He has killed two slayers, in his time. His sire, or the vampire that turned him into one, is Angel. He girlfriend for many a century is Drusilla, who is quite mad thanks to Angel. he has taken care of her for years and sought to find a way to help her become stronger again. He succeeded in doing this by nearly killing Angel and transfereing some of her energy into him. He was injured in the process, though, and Dru became his caretaker. He hid the fact that he had gotten better for a while, until he was ready to go up against Angel. He helped Buffy stop Angel from destroying the world when he became evil and tried to awaken Akafla. Some time after that, he and Dru broke up when he caught her cheating on him. He kidnapped Willow in an attempt to force her to do a love spell to get Dru back. He later decided the way to get Dru back was to go after her and torture her until she loves him again.
 

Drusilla (Juliet Landau)

She is completely nuts. She was driven this way by Angel in his attempts to win her. Angel killed all of her family as well and then turned her into  a vampire. She has some level of psychic abilities and can often see into the future. She has been with Spike for a long time. She was growing ill for some reason and the only cure for her was to drain some of Angel's energy. Doing so made her stronger, but did not help her to much mentally. She recently left Spike which broke him and he is now determined to get her back.
