Buffy becomes very ill from the flu and has to be hospitalized. While at the hospital, suffering from a delirium brought on by fever, she sees a type of Bogeyman. Later, when feeling better she discovers some of the children in the hospital have also seen this monster. Some of the children turn up dead, apparently by the flu, but something more sinister may be at hand. Is there really a bogeyman and if so can Buffy stop him before he claims the lives of any more kids or her own?
