Buffy's 17th birthday is coming up and the gang is planning a surprise party for her. Spike and Drusilla are also getting ready for a party, the we're going to release The Judge, kill the slayer, and create chaos and mayhem kindof party.The demon in question cannot be killed by mortal weapons. To defeat him the last time, he had to be dismembered and the parts of his body scattered all over the planet.  Spike and Drue are trying to gather together all the pieces and resurrect him and it is up to our gang tostop them. Buffy and Angel finally consummate their relationship in this episode. For them sex has more consequences than pregnancy or diseases.
