Finding God
(by Robin Goodfellow)
I found God last night;
He was taken by surprise it seems,
And he was so grateful
I found him.
"Thank you," He said,
"I was so lost and lonely
It's hell being all alone
Thank Me you found Me."
"I could read the words of all the theorists,
Of the ministers, the priests
And the theologians
And I heard the horrid things they said,
And that's how I became certain
I would never be found.
They all know where I am,
And they all are wrong
So I stayed lost."
"I prayed to Me for help,
And finally you came.
You had no idea Whom it was
Was calling you by name.
All you knew was to follow your heart;
And listen to its quiet whisper
And there it was
You found God.
I was so very glad you came'
You cannot imagine
The sheer hell
Of being God
All alone."
"Creation was so lonely,
Its Creator being lost from view
Hidden, deeply hidden
Within each branch and every bud,
Far within each seed and every grain of sand
Shining as a flower
Glowing as a star
Bright as the sun
Cool as the moon
Everywhere and nowhere
There am I.
Hidden, so well concealed
Hidden in plain view."
"I am the God of you.
No book contains me.
The churches worship an idea of Me
They do not worship Me.
I am the tears of every lonely child,
The pain when you ache for a touch.
I am the laughter of all pleasure!
The love of a mother for her baby...
The love of a baby for its mother.
I am not an idea,
I am Everything.
I am Love
And Love is What I AM."
"Thank Me you found Me,
For I was lost and hidden where no one wants to look,
Hidden in the one place it was guaranteed
...Almost...
I would never be ever found...
I was inside of you
In you.
In your heart.
Your soul.
Your mind.
Your tears
Your laughter.
Your sorrow
And
Your joy.
In you.
As
You."
"Thank you.
I was so lonely."
Said God.
