1) Take a steel dagger in your right hand. (Or use your index finger.) Face east.

2) Touch the dagger to your forehead and vibrate "ATAH" (Thou art). Imagine a ball of light at your forehead.

3) Touch the dagger to your chest and vibrate "MALKUTH" (the Kingdom). Imagine a ball of light at your feet.

4) Touch the dagger to your right shoulder. Imagine a ball of light there. Vibrate "VE-GEBURAH" (the Power).

5) Touch the dagger to your left shoulder. Imagine a ball of light there. Vibrate "VE-GEDULAH" (the Glory).

6) Imagine a cross of light in the middle of your body.

7) Clasp your hands together with the dagger between your fingers and say "LE-OLAHM AMEN" (Forever unto the Ages).

(This part is called the Qabalistic Cross.)

8) Next, make in the air toward the East, the banishing pentagram. Bringing the point of the dagger to the center of the pentagram and vibrate "YHVH." Imagine that your voice is carried out into end of the Universe.

9) Holding the dagger out before you, go to the South and make the same pentagram. Vibrate "ADONAI."

10) Go to the West and draw the pentagram. Vibrate "EHEIEH."

11) Go to the North and draw the pentagram. Vibrate "AGLA."

12) Return the East and complete your circle by bringing the dagger point to the middle of the first pentagram. Imagine four great angels standing all around you.

13) Stand with your arms outstretched in the form of a cross and say, "Before me RAPHAEL. Behind me GABRIEL. On my right hand MICHAEL. On my left hand AURIEL. About me flames the pentagram and in the column shines the Six-rayed Star."

14) Again make the Qabalistic Cross as in the beginning.
