The first
board to run Halhoul municipality was founded in 1967 with nine members.
It was until 1972 when elections took place and Mr. Hijazi Madyeh was elected as mayor, along with eight other members. The next elections were in 1976, when Mr. Mohammed Hassan Melhem was elected as mayor, along with other eight members. In 1980, Mayor Melhim was deported and Mr. Hijazi Madyeh took charge as he was the Deputy Mayor. Currently, the municipality board consists of seven members. |
