[[NRPG: Sorry folks, been away on vacation and just got back. A lot has happened since the team split from the airport, I see. I hope that Leo can contribute something here.... ]]

As Leo pulled up to the two-story house, he noticed that the lawn was quite overgrown and that the house seemed to be in pretty bad shape. "No wonder he picked this place.", Leo thought to himself. As he got out of the car, he also noticed that the nearest houses were a few blocks away, so this house was quite isolated. Walking up the sidewalk to the front of the house, he noticed an old dilapadated sign covered by some overgrown weeds. Brushing the weeds aside, he noticed the name of the realty company, Santa Fe Realty, and the company number printed below that. Taking these down, he reminded himself to give them a ring after looking around the place.
Crossing the familiar yellow "Do Not Cross" Tape, Leo went to the front door and noted that there were no signs of forced entry, hence the killer had gotten the key from somewhere. Since the forensics team had swept through the place already, Leo assumed that he'd find their results of what they found (or didn't find) in the report sitting on the passenger side seat of the car. Looking up towards the stairwell, he noticed several thick and dusty cobwebs crisscrossed near the top, which meant that the killer didn't go up that way at all.
"Why are you here, Leo?" he muttered to himself. Good question. What did he hope to possibly find here? He only knew that he didn't want to attend the funeral, after all, the last one he attended was his wife's, and the pain was still there within him. Jim and Vanessa seemed to have had a plan of attack going back to the Sheriff's office, and he didn't want to impede them in any possible way (NRPG: grin grin). And that left this place, the proverbial scene of the crime. As he roamed each room on the ground floor, Leo didn't notice anything particularly out of place. Going to the basement door, Leo decided that if he was going to find anything, it would be down there.
As he started down the stairs, he noticed that at one point, the handrail had splintered some, as if a heavy weight had pressed against it. Looking at the wall across from the rail, he noticed a rusted nail jutting out from the wall. Wait... that wasn't just rust that made the nail appear that way. It might just be... blood? As Leo stepped down on the step that corresponded to the break, he felt the step dip, as if about to break. Digging out a plastic bag and his swiss army knife, Leo dug out the rusted nail and dropped it into the bag, saving it for further examination. Another mental note, make sure none of the police crew ran into that nail in the wall.
Upon reaching the bottom of the stairs, Leo looked around, half-expecting some sort of blood-drenched scene out of a Nightmare on Elm Street. To his surprise, the room seemed pretty clean for an evisceration. There was a good amount of blood where the victim was found, but not much elsewhere. Leo went back to the stairs to see if he missed any blood stains on the stairs, but he found none there. This pretty much said that the victim was killed nearby, but brought here for the "operation". The blood stain was huge, but localized. As he stared at the outline of the body, Leo wondered just what this person did with the hearts he/she cut out. Deciding that he wasn't about to learn anything new here, Leo went back up the stairs and out the front door. Pulling out his cellular phone, he dialed the area hospital and requested the names of all patients that came in for tetanus shots within the few days following the murder and asking that the information be directed to the sheriff's office.
The second number he dialed was to Santa Fe Realty, checking to see who they might have given a key to.
"Hello, Santa Fe Realty. Christine speaking, how may I help you?", a sweet sounding female voice answered.
"Hi there. This is Agent Leo Jones of the FBI. I heard that your realty company handles the estate that the recent murder victim was found in."
After a short silence, Christine answered, "Why yes, we do. The police asked us a lot of questions regarding the estate already. Who currently owns it, if anyone inquired about it, if anyone visited it prior to the murders, and so on. I'll tell you what I told them, we've had several inquiries about that estate and we took no one over there to see the place at any time prior to the murder."
"I see.", Leo answered perplexed. "Do you normally carry the front door keys to your houses in your office?"
"Why yes, we do.", she answered, a little confused. "We have the keys to all of our properties here."
"Do you have any records of anyone borrowing those keys?", Leo asked.
"Yes, we do. Hold on, let me look it up." Christine replied, as Leo heard the sound of keys being struck on a keyboard. "Oh. This is interesting. A Mr. Ted borrowed the keys for one weekend to look over that property. No one was able to show him the house so he asked to look it over himself. That's unusual. The notation on the bottom states that the key was to be mailed to a local hotel about 5 weeks before the murder happened. Do you think that this might be the killer?"
"It certainly is a possibility. Which hotel was that?" Leo inquired.
"Santa Fe Hilton. Room 315." Christine's voice chimed back.
"Thanks a lot, Christine." Leo answered amiably. "If we need any more info, we'll be in touch."
"No problem. Glad I could be of some help."
As they hung up, Leo called Jordan to see how the rest of the group was faring. Jordan told him that they would be meeting at a local restaurant that Leo recalled passing by on the way to the house. Leo then got into the car and headed off to the restaurant. Upon arriving there, he noticed that Jordan and Zenya had already gotten a table. Before going to sit down, Leo decided to look up the realty section of the yellow pages to see just how extensive his search might be for the next murder location. After seeing about 20 or so realtors listed, he decided to join Jordan and Zenya, waiting for Jim and Vanessa to join them.
