Pepperoni and clues to go!

Location : Pete's Pizza Palace, Santa Fe
Time : Day 2, app 10:30 am

> Jordan pulled into the plaza and a few minutes later they found 1522 Canyon > Rd. It turned out to be a Pete's Pizza Palace.

> "What now?" Leo asked.

> "We go in," Jordan replied.

As Leo followed Jordan into the Pizza Palace, he had a sneaking suspicion that this was no ordinary pizza joint. Whether he got that impression from the dancing psychedelic pizzas painted on the walls or from the young looking male (he of the mohawked green hair, nose ring, and tie-dye shirt which made him look like he made a wrong turn in the 60's) and female (at least Leo thought it was a female, sporting the typical goth look) standing behind the counter.

"Woah! If those two don't have Feds written all over them, I don't know who does!" Mohawk called out with a smile. "How may we help you?"

Leo turned to Jordan and said, "Remind me to change Dry Cleaners. They're obviously not doing a good job with the FED markings..."

Jordan smiled at this and flashed his badge at the duo. "Agent Stern, and this is Agent Jones. Would any of you happen to own a red convertible?"

A confused look crossed Mohawk's face for a second, then cleared up again as he said, "No. I used to own one, but I had to sell it to come up with the cash for this place. Pretty neat, huh?"

"It certainly has its charm." Leo said, looking around.

"Thanks, man!" Mohawk said with a wide smile. Goth-girl was still silently standing by on the side, sizing up the two agents. After a moment, she looked at Jordan and asked, "Why? Are we in some sort of trouble?"

"No, no trouble. But the new owners may be. We need to track them down for questioning on a case we're working on." Jordan mentioned calmly, trying to get Goth-girl to lower her guard and relax.

Mohawk seemed a little crestfallen at the news while Goth-girl cracked a little smile. Mohawk shook his head and asked, "Aw man. What kind of trouble could the Tedster be in now?"

"Tedster?" Leo asked, looking from Goth-girl to Mohawk.

"Ted Cross." Goth-girl supplied. "It's probably that slut Rebecca that got him into it, whatever it is."

"Slut?" Jordan said, turning his attention towards Goth-girl.

Mohawk rolled his eyes and explained. "Well, you see, Ted and Rebecca, his wife, are sorta... free-thinkers."

"Sluts." Goth-girl added in, looking at Mohawk to challenge her view.

Mohawk shook his head and continued, "Whatevers. They're a kinda wild couple, into open-relationships and such. He fools around, she fools around, sometimes together, sometimes not. Call me old-fashioned, but..."

At this, Leo, Jordan, and Goth-girl all looked at each other and smiled. It took all of Leo's will not to burst out laughing, as Mohawk tried to find the words to continue.

"... I'm still of the mind where two people should just stick together and not mess around with anyone else." Mohawk shrugged. "Maybe, that's just me. Anyways, I think its his turn to mess around now 'cause they've been hanging out with... with... what's-her-name, babe?"

"Jasmine Renault, like the car. Another slut." Goth-girl said in her deadpan way.

"oh yeah.... jasmine. She's not a slut." Mohawk said, "well, at least not too much of one, anyway. She helps out at the Helping Hands center, so she can't be TOO bad. Anyways, they came in the other day, in fact. She just got this awesome tattoo on her back. It was bitchin', to say the least."

Leo turned to Goth-girl and asked her, "What kind of tattoo was it?"

Goth-girl looked at Leo, narrowing her eyes while she tried to remember the tattoo. "It was some sort of mutant chick with a lot of arms, like Shiva on Mortal Kombat. She was sitting with a skull on her head. It freaked me out just looking at it."

Mohawk turned to the agents and smiled as he nodded his head. "Yeah, it was way cool. Freaked me out too."

A worried look flashed across Jordan's face for a second before he was able to compose himself once again. "You wouldn't happen to know where she lives, would you?"

"Nah, man. Sorry. We don't normally run in each other's circles." Mohawk said.

Goth-girl looked at the agents and added, "I don't like hanging with sluts."

Mohawk shook his head, "They're not all sluts. Geez." Turning back towards the agents, "Sorry dudes. Can't help you much there."

Leo smiled and shook Mohawk's hand. "No problem. You've both been more than helpful. Thanks."

"Anytime federal dudes." Mohawk said as he shook Leo's and Jordan's hands.

"yeah. take care." Goth-girl said as she waved to the agents, a slight smile playing across her face.

Leo waved back as he and Jordan headed out into the parking lot.

"That was an interesting experience." Leo said with a smile. "Jasmine Renault seems to be next on their list. They know we're on their trail and that they won't have much time. Where to now?"
