> "That was Kleinberg. We're to meet him at the site of the last murder. Sandy > is going to help us hunt the rogue wolves down."
The two cars pulled up beside the waiting car near the entrance to the sewer. Jordan and the rest of the team got out while Kleinberg got out of his car.
Jordan looked in the window at Sandy laying on the back seat napping, "What's your plan Dr. Kleinberg?"
"Sandy will lead us to them. Then you'll have to deal with them."
"Will Sandy be able to find them?" Zenya asked.
"I'm sure she will," Kleinberg replied.
Leo walked over carrying a rifle he had gotten out of the trunk of his car. Vanessa and Jim followed him, similarly armed. "We're ready," Leo stated.
Kleinberg looked at their weaponry with a pained look on his face, "Do you really need those?"
"I'm afraid so, Dr," Jordan replied, "We can't go in there bare handed."
"I understand," he replied gravely as he opened the back door of the car. Sandy stepped out and eyed the agents cautiously. She sniffed the air and moved gracefully into the sewer pipe.
Jordan turned on his flashlight, drew his gun and followed her in with Kleinberg at his side. Leo came up beside Jordan, his eyes scanning the darkness ahead.
Sandy trotted out ahead of them with her ears forward. About 200 feet inside the pipe, she came to an intersection. She paused and sniffed the air once again. The agents stopped about 10 feet behind her and waited. After a about a minute, Sandy turned left and resumed her previous pace.
After they had made their way through the tunnels for about 10 minutes, they heard a growl from up ahead. The fur on Sandy's back bristled, and she stopped.
NRPG:
A short post, I admit, but with the bad weather in CT lately, I've been leaving for work early and getting home late. Hopefully this is enough to keep us going.
