NRPG : not much excitment here.
> By the time Vanessa got in the car, Jordan already had an answer. > "Well, Chris couldn't get an address because there wasn't one to get. > Mr. Williams was released from prison two weeks before Chris was... > well, you know. He saw his parole officer the first time, one week > later and then dissapeared."
> "How convienient," she replied.
> Jordan nodded his agreement.
> "So, what now?"
> "Well, I know it's a long shot, but I want to go talk to his sister. > Maybe there's some connection between him and the Crosses?"
The address they were given was about one hour from the hospital, in the suburbs. Both agents were rather impressed with the neat rows of houses on one side of the driving lane. On the other side was a elementary school with a huge field and playground. Vanessa wondered if Williams targetted small children and if any of his victims were from this school. Jordan seemed to read her mind.
"John Taylor Williams Junior. Age 32 at time of arrest. Sales engineer. Arrested for commiting 8 rape crimes scattered all over Washington area. His victims were all professional woman, ranging from 20 to 56 years old." he read from the case file he held in his hands.
"Disguisting." Vanessa commented. "Is the sister the only relative he had?"
"Yes. His father died when junior was five. The mother died 5 years ago. Jennifer Louise Williams is his only sibling."
Vanessa parked the car across from the street, and the two agents made their way across the street and pressed on the doorbell.
"May I help you?" A small whimpering voice asked
"Jennifer Williams? I'm Agent Stern from the FBI and this is Agent Lee."
"Yes?"
"Can we come in for a while, Ms Williams. We got some questions to ask you regarding your brother."
The head shook vigoriously. "I don't know anything about John. They arrested him, and I never see him, never heard from him again."
"Ms Williams, do you know that your brother was actually released from jail a few months ago?"
Jennifer Williams shook her head again. "I really don't know. John never look me up, never call me, never anything. I really don't know. "
With that, she closed the door. Jordan pressed the bell again, and this time, a man opened. A big man, almost one head taller than Jordan and 20 pounds, all muscles, heavier.
"What do you want?" He asked. His voice was rough, tough.
Both Jordan and Vanessa had to flipped their badge and identified themselves again.
"May I know how are you related to Ms Williams?"
"I'm her husband. Is there any law against that?"
Jordan tried to suppress a smile. "Of course not, sir."
"Then what's the matter? Why can't you people leave her alone?"
"Excuse me, Mr - "
"Thomas Irons."
"Mr Irons. We are here because we would like to ask her some questions regarding her brother. Did you know anything about him?"
"Him? He is nothing. He don't deserve anything good."
"Mr Irons, we are not here regarding his crimes. Rather, we would like to ask you if you know if anyone he usually mix around with. Or if you know of his current whereabouts. We are looking for him as he might be of help to us in our current investigation."
"I know nothing. If I see the son of a bitch again, I will kill him."
"How about Ms Williams? Can we speak to her for a moment? Perhaps she had seen him recently?"
"Him coming back? Not if he wants to live."
"Mr Irons, I know that it is wrong of him to commit some many crimes, but blood is thicker than water. He might have visited her when he was released from prison."
Irons shook his head, turned his head to make sure that no one was behind him, before he stepped out of the house and closed the door behind him.
"Look here, Jenny don't know anything. You FBI agents don't have the right to come here and make her remember everything. She is a victim too. How would you feel if your brother one day came back and tried to rape you? She had enough of the nightmare, and I don't want anyone to make her upset again. You see how she is now, all scared and timid. If that bastard comes back, I will personally kill him. "
Jordan and Vanessa thanked him for his time, and left the place.
"Seemed like a wasted trip." Vanessa said. "Where to next?"
"The parole officer. But I had a feeling it will be a wasted trip too. And next time, remind me to read through everything before asking questions."
