Mission 2 : Aftermath

Students, old and new....

[NRPG : Zulu - this is just a side foray for Leo as he visits his old teacher. Nothing much to add to the excitement as it is. I know, I know the timeline is slightly messed up with this post, but Leo needed a break from Rebecca Cross. hahahaha... :) Classroom E - Your email came through just as I was finishing this up. Work has been catching up to me lately, so I'm a little behind on my posting. Just as a side note, patience isn't really my thing either, but sometimes interesting things will happen when something does happen! Take it from ol' Leo Jones..... he knows. ;) ]

[Outside Classroom E, 12:45 pm]

As they walked back towards Classroom E, they passed more small talk between them. As they rounded the corner, Vynce spotted a stranger standing outside of Classroom E, apparently trying to enter the locked room. After hearing about what Mata had done to the class, Vynce wasn't about to take any chances and started to withdraw his sidearm. Before he got his gun out of his holster, he saw that he was staring down the barrel of a very big, very nasty automatic.

"You're fast, kid." the shadowy figure said as he stepped towards the two agents. "But not fast enough for me."

Richard gave off a chuckle as he shook his head and stepped towards the person who was going to visit him. "Leo, you'll never change."

As Leo Jones returned his sidearm to its holster, he grinned and shook the outstretched hand of his former teacher. "Well, if Junior there didn't draw, I wouldn't have either."

As Vynce came up to the older agents, he summed up Leo in a glance. Richard stepped back and made the necessary introductions. "Well Leo, Junior here is Agent Vynce Edwards, another of my students. Vynce, this is Agent Leo Jones from Team Zulu."

Leo and Vynce shook hands, then entered Classroom E after Richard had unlocked the new door. Leo looked around at the newly furnished classroom and gave off a small whistle.

"Ha! You finally got that new computer that you were always asking for. Even if it did take a bomb to do it." Leo said, laughing.

Richard laughed along for a while. "Yeah yeah, but at least I got it. So, what pleasure do I owe this visit to?"

"Oh, nothing much, just wanted to see how the wife and kids were doing." Leo said, sitting in one of the new chairs.

Richard smiled and said, "Oh, they're doing well. The kids keep bugging me as to when Uncle Leo is going to take them horseback riding again."

At this, Leo frowned a little. "It won't be for a while, not while Rebecca Cross is hounding Zulu."

Richard's face turned serious as well as he asked, "How is Zulu doing? I heard that all of you have taken quite a blow."

"It's worse than you think. I had to put a bullet in Zenya's boyfriend to keep him from being splattered all over the sidewalk, Vanessa's boyfriend is in a coma and Vanessa has been in the hospital as well. Jim's young friend nearly died as well and Jordan's sister might be in trouble. I'm the only one that she hasn't targeted yet." Leo said, looking at the two agents within the room. As he noticed that Vynce probably didn't have any idea what he was talking about, he told the trainee about Zulu's case in Santa Fe, how the ritual murders turned out to be a fertility rite that Rebecca and Ted Cross were trying and how Zulu stopped them. Turning to Vynce, Leo concluded, "And now she's coming after Zulu for revenge."

RIchard nodded, "Another example of what you might be going up against as part of the X-files. Not that we're trying to scare you off."

Vynce smiled, "It'll take a bit more than that to scare me off."

Leo nodded at this. "I hope so, there may be rough times ahead." As he looked out of the window, gathering his thoughts, he wondered if he made the right choice in coming to the X-files. As soon as the thought entered, he dismissed it completely. He knew that he had made the right choice, this team of his were his new family. Turning back towards the other two and smiling, Leo asked, "So teach, what casefile have you given our young agent here to solve?"

As Richard recounted the case of the possessed deaf-mute murderess, Leo looked at Vynce and smiled. "This is another one of your sister-in-law's cases, isn't it?" Leo asked. "Man, this is harder than that demonic psychiatrist case you gave us to solve. So, Vynce, what do you think? What's your spin on this, possession or clever murduress? I've got some time to spare before heading home."
