Mission 2 : Aftermath

Liberty bell

(Paul Kenner's Office, Hidden location near Falls Church, VA)

Paul Kenner was furious. He was pacing his office in rage. In his hand was a nine Iron which he waved like a baton. Two of his subordinates sat across from his desk. They were both terrified.

"What the Hell were the two thinking, bringing that mercenary Docker into this operation??? How many times do I have to tell you to consult with me before bringing in an outsider? On top of everything, you use someone from Black Ops. Thanks to that rogue, we're worse off than we were before: We have nothing to use against Zulu, no device and worst of all, we lost a valuable operative, when Docker kidnapped Carol."

"But Sir..."

"No buts. If you ever pull a stunt like that again, I will not only have your badges, I will have your heads on a plate. Do I make myself clear?"

"Perfectly clear, Sir," both men said in unison.

"Dismissed."

The men scurried of like frightened animals. Kenner sent his evil eye after them.

Paul Kenner had learned to hate The Firm more than most. Every time they got involved, bad things happened. Kenner had seen it too many times: Bay of Pigs, Korea, Vietnam, Granada, Panama and the Persian Gulf. He held the CIA responsible for the deaths of 25 of his men outside Da Nang. Black Ops operatives had lured them into a trap to save their own filthy hides. Luck alone saved Paul Kenner and his second in command.

He stopped pacing, sat down in his chair and placed the golf club on the desk. He took his little black book out of his inside pocket and found the number to Colonel Tom Cougar. Making sure his office door was securely locked, he dialed the number.

(The Liberty Bell Militia HQ, somewhere near Monument Valley, AZ)

"Cougar."

"Who's the target?"

"Sure do. It will be a pleasure to hunt him down. Do you want him dead or alive?"

"Consider it done. Semper Fi."

Colonel Tom Cougar placed the radio phone on the table next to a map over the greater Washington area. He stepped out of his command tent and looked out over the makeshift camp that was the home of his Liberty Bell Freedom Fighters. When Cougar was still in the Corps, he had been stationed in Philadelphia, thus the name. He recognized the irony in calling his men freedom fighters. To most, they would be considered right-wing extremists, trying to overthrow the Goverment. To Tom, it didn't matter - he wasn't about to let the UN take over his country.

All: Just a short post to explain the NSA - Docker connection. I realize the timing for my Christmas posts were a bit off, but I hope it doesn't matter. May I suggest we start our next mission late January / early February (game time)? That way, everyone has a chance to finish up what they are doing.

Jeff: Am I correct in assuming that the Black Ops sort under the CIA? Leo would be pleased to know that someone else is hunting Docker too.
