The Great Fear! Are rumors as inocent as they are said to be? Last sunday, a mob of 800 countriside city dwellers,gathered together and burned all tax records and refused to pay feudal dues. The cause for these vandalist acts was said to be the fear that The king's troops were stealing their crops since there had been serious food shortages. This was said to be a simple rumor, but the damages done were horrible and have caused the country lots of problems. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||

The Storming of the Bastille! last tuesday, July 14 1789, France's Independence Day, was not celebrated with joy and glory as usual. The country's prison, most commonly known as the Bastille, was fiercely attacked by a mob of 800 peasents that claimed that the king's troops were keeping food supplies. This caused an enourmous revolt and the mob, marched to the bastille in order to kill and burn everything. One of the soldiers opened fired and killed a great number of peasents, but these had already stormed in and killed the governor, and a lot of soldiers. The execution of Louis XIV! | Last Wednesday, the 21, King Louis XVI was executed and with him the absolutist reign. This was effect of the sans-coulottes, that at the same time were effect of the Constitution written previously. Louis had been arrested in order to end with absolutism. The September massacres we previously talked about last week, lead to Louis execution. The funeral will be held tomorrow at noon near Verasilles."To save france means to save the revolution."
