Class:          English Prep 9
Objective:   To discover and use (for grammar and word study) basic facts on the early cinema.
Materials
Opening Motivational Set
Procedure:

1. a)  Guesses from students as to how they made them (Muybride then Edison) and what was in the first films (Edison).

   b) explain set up for Muybridge's first pictures of runners.

2.  Go through the Focus List codes that will be in place while we are studying film essays and descriptions, including this one on Muybride and Edison.
     Also writing activity expectations with reading at end of class.  Also test to be based on word definitions and facts, so the package should be kept together and studied.
 

3.  Read through the Muybridge and Edison descriptions and assignments.

4.  Students work on producing first  hand- in sheet for film unit.  (15 minutes silent work time)

5.  Students draw larger version of the images on the hand-in sheet to produce a paper stack film.
