The
patient, nicknamed TOP98 or Dr.Abuse, presents a
progressive disgression from reality. He eventually
evolves into some of the many personalities his mind
creates, thus creating odd but somehow hilarious
situations. Unluckily, he keeps such transgressions at a
fictitional level.
Personally,
he is rather shy and uncomunicative, until provoked. His
reactions can vary from total indifference to brutal
semi-animal attack, but he tries to be a good guy...
normally.
Right now, he's on University, on his first year.
He is studying Telecomm Engineering... Something tough which he hopes to survive. He lives on a student residence, that is, alone, his family being back at Nicaragua... Well, his problem.
On
a more personal area, his interests are:
Comics,
drawing and cartoons (Both realistic or comical).
He does draw and tries to do his best. His
favorite comics are Spawn, Ranma 1/2,
Idiot World, Hate, Ganma
("the best manga ever!"), as well as
other titles, being underground comics his latest
"crush" ("And I hate Dragon
Ball, for it is repetitive and
estereotypical. I truly belive that Akira
Toriyama ended up hating his work... but he had a
contract. The only part I would save is mostly
everything before Gokuh grows up").
As for cartoons (animated stuff) he loves Ren
& Stimpy, as well as Chiken
& Cow, also loves Rocko's
Modern Life ("expressive as hell,
and funny too!"), the style given into the
latest Batman & Superman
cartoons, some manga stuff ("only rare
jewels, like the Ghost In The Shell
movie"), classical Looney Tunes
("the first Daffy Duck was awesome!"),
a little of Disney ("I
mainly hate the way they transform most great
works, such as Victor Hugo's Hunchback Of
Notre Dame... They just turn it into a
silly sentimental story, taking out all the
reality -violence- it really had!!! I only like
the good stuff, such as Donald Duck... Well, I admit it, I like the little Mermaid... How she's drawn, I mean!"), but
he specially likes most types of weird cartoons
("some old, some new, but most are
great!").
He
does like to read, and is a fan of H.P.
Lovecraft's literature ("He could really
scare me. I tried Stephen King's It,
I liked it, but didn't freak me out as much as
Lovecraft's stuff... Although It
did freak me out a little"). He reads other
authors too, whenever he gets a good book on his
hands ("I don't like realistic stories
'cause they are realistic. I like to drift away,
to look for different things... To imagine that
which was never seen... To boldly go where no one
has evere gone before.... Something that REALLY
freaks me out are well-done realistic movies,
like gangster or gang movies, since those things
are real and can happen to anyone. Then why does
Lovecraft's stuff freak me out? Well, that's why
I like him!"). Apart from fiction, he likes
Friedrich Nietzsche's way of expressing his
ideas, and even agrees with some of them. He has
kind of a crush on philosophy, but doesn't have
enough knowledge to give opinions... Shame on
him.
Academically,
he likes sciences, and is trying to study
Telecomunications Engineering (A really hard
one). His favorite subject is... Physics! He
loves physics, and then Math. ("Some might
say that Physics take all the magic from our
world, all the mystery. But, if you mix all that
still is unknown, with all the fascinating facts
discovered, you have enough magic and mystery to
share... And it might even be real! For
example... Did you know that if you move REALLY
fast you travel into the future? And did you know
that going even faster, at the maximun speed
-that is light speed- you would advance infinity
years into the future? And did you know that what
I've just said has been proved!!!")
Although he
is out of shape, he does like sports ("Only
that here I don't get the chance to practice
them"), specially fencing
("Oh, I wish I could be back with my
team!"). He wasn't that bad actually, but
had to get out due to his travelling around the
world ("And I needed the time for my
studies!"). He also used to play basketball
("But being sloppy and slow discourages
you!") and badmington. His nemesis sports
are soccer, football and volleyball
("Although I can play volleyball"). He
doesn't like heigths, so don't ask him to do
bungee jumping (" I had this recurrent dream
in which I was at my house in Spain, going up the
staircase, and then it all became like jello, so
I had to fight trying to avoid falling down. What
I really hated is that, even inside the
apartment, I wasn't safe! Can you imagine how it
would be to live inside a house that breathes?
The really alienating thing is that the rest of
the people didn't seem to notice a thing")
His
favorite movie to t he date is The Fifth
Element ("Not because it has a
message, not because it is the ultimate creation
when it comes to movies. I love it because it is
completely different to the stuff before it. For
once, the future has color, for once they use
real comic artists, such as Moebius,
to desing the movie, for once they talk to the
really good guys, such as Jean-Paul
Gaultier, to dress the actors. For once
they've used an awesome mix of drama, action and
humor. Making it short, for once they've done
things as they oughta be done!"), and, on
his opinion, the worst movies ever are Air
Force One, Independence Day & Scream
(And similar) ("Titanic
would sink, but the reproduction of the boat and
the people on it saves it"). He thinks Jim
Carrey really should change his act, misses a
"Good Guy" role for one of his
favorites, Gary Old man, wishes for a good movie
from his other favorite, Michael Keaton ("I
love him because he really acts! You've seen him
in roles as different as Beetlejuice and
Batman. He's been the evil guy
too. But, in Multiplicity, he
proves his worth by making four different
characters out of the clones, who are equal to
the original. It is the way they act that makes
them different, and that's what proves his power
as an actor!"), and really hopes that actors
such as Swartzenegger (However is written) give
up and look for things they can really do well
("He's no good dancing tango... As they say
on In&Out: Arnold doesn't
dance, ha can barely walk!"). He would also
like to see Di'Caprio's face completely distorted
due to a freak accident, but that is on a more
personal place ("I would like to see how
good an actor he'll be then! Actually, he has
potential. You may not recognize him, but he was
Jhonny Depp's mentally challenged brother on What's
Eating Gilbert Grape?, there he was
AWESOME!"). He belived that Tom Hanks wasn't
good 'till he acted on Philadelphia and
on Forrest Gump ("Hooray!").
He really hates how in The Man In The
Iron Mask Di'Caprio is the main
character (He has even two characters) while
GREAT actors such as Depardieu
("Extraordinarie!"), Irons, Malkovick
or Byrne (Who is the real main character) are
left behind as secondaries. He praises Tim Burton
and loves Danny Elfman's music (Which uses to be
in Burton's movies).
A
little note on music: He likes no specific type
of music, but prefers to listen to songs from
anyone. Instead of looking for what the song says
(Which he does rarely), he prefers to look for
the feelings the music gives to him. Still he
can't stand many singers and doesn't understand
why are people so dumb as to be suckered in the
economic schemes of the guys who built the Spice
Girls, or the Backstreet Boys
("Which I call Spice Boys")...
But he doesn't like to discuss... much, and
respects everyone's opinion ("Which doesn't
mean that I'll shut up").
"Religion? No
thankx"
He
likes videogames, specially 3D action games and
simulators, for they inmerse him into the action
("I wanna feel inside of the game's reality!
Can't wait for V.R. devices to be
affordable!"). He also likes strategy games,
being Command & Conquer his
favorite ("Although I prefer the esthetics
from Dune 2"). When he is
asked about strategy games, which simulate war,
he says: "War's no game, this is, that's why
I play it" About 3D games, he loves Quake
("Quake 2, and many other new games, of
different styles, have deceptioned me. Seems like
people doesn't have any more ideas! Why is Q2 so
damm military?"). He wishes to create his
own games ("Another way of telling a story:
Letting someone play through it! And also has
animations, sounds, and lots of action...
Although I won't compare with books or comics,
they are all great and have their good and bad
sides").
He is
a Role Playing Game maniac ("It's like
reading a story, but people control the
characters"). He plays mainly Call
of Cthulhu ("Based on Lovecraft :)
") but gladly enters in any other game,
having no preference yet ("I haven't played
enough... I need more!"). Only one of the
several Call of Cthulhu adventures he proposed to
his friends were finished ("Do I suck as a
keeper? I don't know. I might, but, if they don't
play... How am I supposed to improve?
Well...").
Conclusion:
The patient is a nutcase. Confine inmediatly before he
scapes.... Too late.
