A tough climb today heading towards Duglha and Lobuje at 4,620m. We were very concerned about the effects of altitude sickness here. The advanced symptoms of which may cause either a high altitude pulmonary endema, where the lungs fill up with fluid choking you to death, (HACE for short), or a cerebral endema, where fluid fills the brain, (HAPE) which usually results in a coma. Either way, the only way is down to relieve the symptoms - that is if you are not too late.

Despite this madness, the scenery was simply unforgettable.. Again, captured here on the panoramic camera.
The temperature here was hovering a little above freezing, with a strong wind chill factor. Just imaging having to live here!
We are now at the start of the Khumbu glacier. This image may not look real; it didn't look real when you were there either!
