NetZERO crack:
This zip contains this readme, 2 shortcuts, and a zip called "crack.zip". This is a very simple crack to use. Simply extrct the contents of "crack.zip" to your NetZERO program directory (eg c:\program files\netzero). Then extract the two shortcuts to anywhere you want them (I keep mine on the start menu, for easy access).
Next, start your NetZERO, and click the "connect" button. Listen to your modem. If you cannot hear your modem, see the notes below.
Your modem will go through it's normal singing routine. AS SOON AS IT IS QUIET click the "NZCRACK" shortcut you extracted from this zip.
Timing is essential here, so please be prepared for this. Once your connection is complete, the banner will NOT load, nor will your browser launch. The connection window may stay open, but will not stay on top, and you can move it outta the way if need be.
when you are done with your connection, be sure to click the "UnCRACK" icon before you try to connect again.
For a semi-detailed explanation of the "crack", see "EXPLANATION" below.
	ENJOY !

NOTES:
If you can't hear your modem when you make a dial-up connection, you will need to turn up the modem speaker, by right-clicking the "netzero" icon in the dial-up networking folder. Click "properties" on the menu, then click the "configure modem" button in the ensuing window. Now you will see a "speaker volume" slider. Drag this all the way to the right. Then click "OK" to exit the modem properties, and click "OK" to exit the dial-up networking properties

EXPLANATION:
This may give you some idea of what the crcrack does. Then again, it may further your confusion.
When you launch NetZERO, it begins looking for and using certain DLLs which contain code that is vital to the program. One of these is "net.dll" located in the "bin" folder of the NetZERO program directory. This "net.dll" is responsible for a number of things, including launching your browser upon connection, and of course loading the banner. The "crack" simply renames the file "net.dll" to "net.dl_", thereby making it virtually invisible to NetZERO, rendering it useless. The UnCRACK, of course, renames it back to "net.dll".

CREDITS:
I got the info from the web somewhere, and begin putting it to use. The original crack was to move the NET.DLL to another directory. Using the same basic idea (to make the file unusable by the program), I made two simple batch files, NZCRACK.BAT at UnCRACK.BAT, and placed shortcuts to them on my start menu. Since I can't remember the person I got the info from, ALL the credit goes to GOD, with a special prayer asking him to bless the one who posted the info.

If you'd like to see exactly what the crak does (if you can't take my word for it) right-click "NZCRACK.BAT", and select "edit" from the menu. This will open the bat in notepad. You can do the same to "UnCrack.bat". Remeber, if you change the contents of either of these batch files, they might not work any more.

THIS IS THE END OF THE FILE.
