When you delete a file from your system, it doesn't relly get "deleted". Instead, Windows marks the file as free space, by changing the first character of the filename to one which DOS doesn't recognize. So the data is still there, until something overwrites it (Don't believe me ? Check the "Lost & Found" page !)
This is why Jetico created BCWipe. What this prog does, is wipes your free space by overwriting it AS MANY TIMES AS YOU WANT !
