Chapter One

"Nick, do you want to join me for a walk?" Nick turned around from the novel he had been reading and saw Derek in the doorway. "Sure," he said, closing the novel. "I need some fresh air anyway."

Derek chuckled as he put on his coat. "Every one of us needs fresh air." he said as Nick puts on his coat. They stepped outside and began to walk. It was a while before Derek replied. "Have you heard from Rachel and Alex yet?" Rachel and Alex are working on a case in Edmonton, Alberta. They left several days ago. Nick sighed with frustration. "Not a word." he said. "It made me feel so frustrated, sitting there while Rachel and Alex are dealing with this dangerous kind of poltergeist. Have you felt anything?" Derek shook his head, frowning. "Rachel and Alex are safe." he said. "It's the absence of communication that –"Derek broke off his sentence abruptly, surprising Nick since he had never done that.

"What's the matter, Derek?" asked Nick. "How long have we been walking?" Derek asked sharply. Nick frowned. "Around 15 minutes, why?" When Derek didn't answer, he followed Derek's glance. "No way!" Nick gasped, shunned.

The second castle stood in the middle of the forest, the one almost identical to The Legacy House but the only difference is the castle is a little smaller in size. In the front of the castle are several
moving vans and a Volkswagen Beetle. Nick blinked to make sure he wasn't seeing things but the castle was still there after each blink. So he noticed one of the movers and walked up to him. "Excuse me," he said. "what's up?" The mover grunted as he unloaded a bed. "A group of young adults moving in." That was all the mover said. "What did he say?" Derek asked. "A group of young adults moving in." Nick echoed. "We better get back home." said Derek with alarm in his voice. Nick didn't question Derek's action. Instead, he followed Derek home.

The four eyes of the couple standing at the bay window, unnoticed, followed the men as they walked away from the castle.

"Hey," Nick said the first thing they stepped into the House. "What's up?" Derek didn't say anything as he took off his jacket and tossed it onto the nearby chair. He walked down the hall and into the Library. "There is no way there is the second castle on this island." Derek answered as he pulled an ancient book off the shelf. "I've been sensing feelings from this castle, someone covering the feelings from me." The doorbell rang as Derek placed the book on the table. "You go answer it," said Nick. "I'll do this for you." Derek shot him a thankful glance and went to answer the door. He didn't know what actually happened but the next thing he knows after opening the door is his old best friend, Randolph Hitchcock, throwing dust at him and chanting a spell. The last thing Randolph
said before running off was "No woman will ever love you again!"
