They have lots to be thankful for as the sky turned red and began to shot out red hail. The groups can hear the cars and helicopters being destroyed as hails continued to rain down on them.
"God, the hail are deadly." said Justis.
"Yes." said Kathleen as she watched the events unfolded before her eyes.
Pretty soon the grounds were covered with red hail. So red that it looked like it was covered with blood.
Could it be blood? Kathleen wondered.
It might be blood. Dara said.
Then it's time. said Kathleen.
"Time for what?" Dara asked out loud.
Kathleen began to mouth the quotes she remembered:
Salome gasped in horror. "Earth shall end if the challenges are not met?" she said.
"Yes," said Kathleen. "that was what it said in The Legacy's journal."
"What kind of challenges?" Metis wanted to know.
"The diary didn't say anything more." said Kathleen.
"The ghosts from the past shall rise up." Justis
muttered. "That's it! It could be our mistakes that
we make in the past!"
"I don't know." Derek shouted back. "But the castle group could know!"
Rachel hurriedly shut the door as they rushed into the safety of the House. The windows of the House, unlike the Castle, were safety glass. The group huddled together in the lobby.
"What do you mean, the castle group could know?" asked Alex.
"They have the diary." replied Derek.
"If the hail stops," suggested Nick. "we could run to the Castle."
"No, the grounds will be covered by hail." said Derek. "There must be something we can do."
"What about helicopter?" Philip suggested.
Nick looked out of the window at the heliport. "Some of the blades are dented." said Nick.
"Would that affect the helicopter?" asked Alex.
"Probably not but we will have to wait until the hail stops or risk crashing into the ground." said Derek.
Suddenly, the hailstorm came to an cease. The silence came over the group. Nick was the first to shattered the silence. "Let's go!" shouted Nick. "It could be the eye of the storm for all we know!"
The group didn't need any more encouragement as they ran out of the door, straight to the heliport as fast as they can on icy grounds without slipping. Nick was the first to get to the helicopter and the blades, dented or not, were turning as the group got into the helicopter.
"Who's coming?" asked Metis.
"The House group is coming!" Kathleen said as she ran to the door and peeked out. "They are coming in the helicopter!" She saw the heliport covered in ice.
Metis joined her and stared out. "I'll clear it." said Metis as she squirted her eyes. The winds around the heliport came up, shrieking and howling and it was not long before the heliport was clear of any ice.
The sound of the helicopter made the group looked up. They watched the Legacy helicopter touched down on the ground while the House group ran out of it and toward the house. Nick was the last to came into the castle.
"Is everyone all right?" asked Metis. Everyone nodded.
Derek came up to Kathleen. "What is going on?" asked Derek.
Kathleen told him about the quote in the diary she had discovered few moments before the whole thing happened. Derek listened quite carefully as she described. "Ghosts from the past?" said Derek.
"Yes." said Kathleen.
"In my case, that would have something to do with Alicia and Mr.Hitchcock." whispered Derek.
"I'm afraid so." replied Kathleen.
"That was why my father and Alicia were here in the first place." said Derek. "They are the ghosts from the past."
"Why Mr.Rayne?" Dara wondered out loud.
"My father was killed when I was at young age." explained Derek. "I was in Peru with him when it happened. He was here earlier with Alicia."
Kathleen suddenly got the bad feeling. She looked at Derek in alarm.
"What?" asked Derek.
Kathleen opened her mouth but the horribly shrieks interrupted what she was about to say.
Everyone yelped and covered their ears. The grounds began to shake.
Metis found herself falling to the floor while Dara grabbed on something for support. Kathleen was trying to grab on something when suddenly a black hole opened up beyond her feet and she found herself falling through it!
