Chapter Twenty-Seven

The game ended in an hour.  Legacy and Death looked down at the game board in silence.  Legacy had beaten Death by 10 points.

    “Congratulations.” said Death.

“Thank you.” replied Legacy.  “One question, through.”

“You’ve won the game.” said Death.  “Ask.”

“What is the point of this?” asked Legacy.

“Randolph had came up with this foolish plan.  He attempted suicide to get into contact with me.  Randolph was successful and said a big prize would be waiting for me if I take away Derek.  But I know you, Legacy, well enough that you would challenge me.  I’ve heard many spoke of Scrabble in a fond way so…” Death let the sentence drifted off.

“So you decided the challenge would be to play a game of Scrabble.” said Legacy with a smile.

    “Yes.” answered Death.

“So whatever is going to happen to Randolph?” asked Legacy.

“I thought you said one question but never mind.” replied Death.  “Randolph won’t be here for a long time.”

    “He’s dead.” said Legacy.

    “Yes.” answered Death.

Death and Legacy came into the Den.  Derek practically leaped up from the couch and wrapped Legacy in his arms.

    “What happened?” asked bewildered Alex.

    “I won.” replied Legacy.

“But what about Hitchcock?” asked Nick.

“You guys won’t be seeing him alive.” replied Death.

Legacy heard Derek sighed a deep sigh and hugged her harder.

“Ladies and gentlemen,” Legacy began at the meeting several days later.  “my official name is no longer Legacy but Kalaya Chrissi Moriarty.  I will be the new member of San Francisco Legacy.  No one else than this group is to know of my true identify.  Dr. Derek Rayne will remain the head of this group.”

She looked at the group and smiled.  It was the first smile she had in a long time.  Derek reached up and squeezed her hand.

“Now, let the future begin!” Dara cheered.

Dara, Justis, Metis and Salome will not be in any of the future fan fiction.  William Sloane will be included in the following fan fiction.  It is to remind that William Sloane was added in TV series during the beginning of this story and there was simply no way of adding in the story.
