I was born to darkness in the year 1197...My sire Sean a
Tremere
had come to my village on a tiny island off the cost of Italy in the
summer of 1196 when I was barely 15 years of age. I can't remember
exactly who told me but that summer a stranger had come to my village.
The villagers were all frightened of him. They said that he was never
to
be found in daylight that he only appeared when the moon came up...there
had been several deaths in the village and the villagers suspected
Sean
although they knew not his name.
As a child I was always getting into
things and asking my mother
dozens of questions but I couldn't help that...I was naturally curious
and was like a sponge thirsting for all the knowledge I could soak
up.
And even as a teenager I was curious and was always poking my nose
into
the thick of the gossips of the village *smiles fondly* when I heard
about Sean that set my imagination going and I set out to find out
who
this mysterious person was so one night I snuck out of the house and
went down to the caves by the seaside where I heard his dwelling was.
I
crept along the rocky wall of the cave trying not to make a sound but
alas Sean heard me anyway. There in the doorway he stood...he was
really tall and he seemed to tower above me as I was still a little
girl
only 15 at the time...he had long blond hair and golden as the sun
almost a white. His eyes were an Icy blue framed by beautifully thick
lashes...he smiled and you could see tiny dimples in his cheeks.
Over the summer and following winter me and
Sean became good
freinds...I helped him with things during the daylight hours and he
taught me about his kind. One evening when I came to him I found him
in
a corner curled up in a ball blood tears streaming down his cheeks.
I
ran over to him and asked him what was wrong and he replied that he
loved me too much to see me grow older and eventually die when he knew
he would go one without me. I told him that mortals do eventually die
and asked him what he could do to prevent me from leaving him. He
replied by giving me a soft kiss on the lips then he bit into my neck
clutching me to him. He bit into his wrist and put it to my lips telling
me that I must drink or die.
As I lay on that dusty floor writhing
in the pain of my mortal
body dying I heard the sounds of footsteps coming nearer to the
cave...finally I lay still and then came the sound of men yelling and
men
stormed into the cave grabbing me up pulling me up and away from
Sean...holding me tightly with cruel hands not letting me go. I watched
as they grabbed Sean up too. He was still weak from my feeding and
he
was like a rag doll in their grasp. Right before my eyes I watched
them
slay my maker. Suddenly they heard a loud crashing which startled them
for just an instant loosening their grip on me giving me the escape
I
needed. Sean's stone necklace lay in the dust. I grabbed it up and
ran as
fast as I could from the caves into the forest and dug into the soft
earth as deep as I could get so that I would be protected by the coming
dawn.
When night rose once more, I clawed my way
to the surface and ran
to the ocean diving into the waves and making my way to the shores
of
Italy where I roamed for many years. I went further into Europe
exploring many of the ruins of the old countries and then finally I
came
into the New World where I lived many years in New Orleans and New
York.
To this very day I mourn the death of my Sire and
wonder if he
hadn't given me the dark gift he might have been spared. The pain is
not
as acute as it has been before but I know that it will never go
away...only time will heal my wounded and tattered soul but I know
that
it will get better eventually. Those early times were tough especially
without a sire to teach me the things I needed to know but I got through
that tough time and emerged into a blossomed flower with a diamond
hard
exterior.
