This is a series of basic exercises in energy manipulation. It was the first I ever learned, and I thought it might benefit some here. I've broken it down into stages of progression; even though it is a very basic set of exercises, this is not something you will master overnight.
Allow your hands to completely relax, until they "cup" naturally. Now position one hand over the other, palm to palm, but not touching. Focus on your hands, with the intention of gathering/pushing energy between them. After a few moments, you should begin to sense what feels like a warm, fuzzy ball between your hands. Practice this until you are able to do it quickly and with minimal effort.
Once you have reached the point at which forming the ball has become reasonably quick and easy, begin trying to pull your hands slowly apart. Slowly turn them both palm up, while keeping a "fuzzy ball" in each hand. Practice this until you can maintain the energy balls for at least several minutes with minimal effort.
Once you have mastered that, begin trying to form the "fuzzy ball" in each hand simultaneously while keeping them apart. Start with the hands help palm up, and keep them naturally cupped as in the prior stages. You might also practice building up the energy in either hand individually. Do this until you can consistently build the energy to an intense level in either hand or both simultaneously in 5 seconds at most on a consistent basis.
Once the above techniques are mastered, try moving the energy to various parts of your body without the use of your hands. You may start by forming the ball in one of your hands as before, but then focus on moving the energy from your hand to some other location on your body. As you become more proficient at this, try actually forming the concentration of energy at various locations on your body. Practice this until you are able to do so in 5 seconds or less.
Finally, having accomplished all the previous steps with regularity, begin practicing projecting the "fuzzy ball" to a willing partner, while infusing it with a sense of calm/healing. Discuss the effects and perceptions with your partner. If a partner is not available, project to a pet and watch for reactions. This is by no means the only way in which this technique may be used, but it is the safest for experimentation in my opinion.
