Beginner's Pack
![]() I have compiled this list by popular demand for a short list of reading for the beginner. I have tried to steer clear of any one cultural influence here, with the exception of Hutton's books. I have included them as well as allowed a leaning toward Wicca on this list, as that is probably the most common "first stop" for newcomers to paganism, and because British or Celtic overtones are fairly common in its practice. I have also included Don Kraig's introduction to Ceremonial Magick, as much of Neo-Pagan ritual borrows heavily from CM. This small list is very much just a starting point. I have tried to include the most "meat" at an introductory level as I could in 20 titles or less. One caution: some of the books here will include smatterings of "history." Much of it is wrong. It is for this reason that I am highly recommending both Jeffrey Russell and Ronald Hutton's work here, as it is widely respected and written without agenda.
