Holy art Thou Lord of the Universe,

MAGICK


There have been many, many, books written about Magick and Ritual so I am not going to cover everything in these pages. I have set up a list serve and a Message Board here so that if you want to see something in particular I will try my best to put it on these pages for you. I don't feel that you should have to pay through the nose to some book store or school just to get the basics, but there is no substitute for a good teacher if you can find one. It is said that when the student is ready the teacher shall come. But until then I hope that I can help.



THE KABALISTIC CROSS


Visualize yourself getting larger and larger, taller and taller, untill you are above your city. Continue to visualize yourself growing until the Earth is below you and you tower above it, but it is still solid beneath your feet. Continue visualizing this until you are larger tha the entire galaxy. Now visualize a sphere of brilliant white light coming from above your head. It is about nine inches in diameter, about the size of a dinner plate. It is very bright, it would blind you if you looked straight at it. Now point to that sphere above your head with your dagger or finger and "bring it down" by pointing to your forehead, just above and between the eyes. Now, visualize this brilliance filling your head with briliant divine light. While pointing to your forehead vibrate the word: AH-TAH.(Thou Art)

Next, Bring the point of the dagger(or your finger)firmly down your body until you are pointing toward the ground. Your hand should be pointing down right in front of your groin. As you do this, visualize the light in your head coming down along with the blade (or your finger), down through your body and beyond your feet down to infinity. Now, vibrate the divine name: MAAL-KOOT.(the Kingdom)

Now, bring the blade up to your right shoulder. As you do this, visualize the beam of white light running down the center of your body, form a beam from the heart area out to your right, past the blade at your right shoulder. Visualize this beam of light extend to the end of the universe, and beyond. Focus on this beam and vibrate the divine name: VE-GAY'BOO-RAH. (the Power)

Move the point of the blade accross your body to your left shoulder. As you do, visualize the beam of light now extending through infinite space to your left. As you focus on this beam of light, vibrate the divine name: VEY-GAY'DOO-LAH.(the Glory)

Next, clasp your hands at your chest as if praying. If you are using a dagger, the point should be up, not pointing away from you, nor to the sides or pointing down. Visualize within your chest, at the point covered by your folded hands, a brilliant golden glow. Vibrate the words: LAY-OH-LAYAM, AH-MEN.(for ever Amen)

You have just visualized yourself as the center of the universe with only the divine light coming through you.





LESSER BANISHING RITUAL OF THE PENTAGRAM


When you draw the pentagrams you should visualize them as being very bright and pure blue(as the flame from a gas burner). "See"the flame follow the tip of your blade or finger as you draw the pentagrams in the air and know the flame is there.

To draw the pentagrams you start at your left hip(using your finger or a knife) draw a line up above your head, then move the blade to the outside of your right hip. Next, move your blade so that it is outside your left shoulder, then straight across your body so that it is outside your right shoulder. Now, move it back to the left hip, ending exactly where you began. Your finger or the tip of the knife should always be pointing forward, away from you.

Now we are ready to do the Ritual itself.

The first thing you do in this Ritual is the Kabalistic Cross as given above.

Face East, Draw a large pentagram[as described above]with your blade or finger. The lines of the pentagram and the circle connecting them, should be visualized in a blue-white color. Make a stabing gesture at the center of the center of the pentagram with your blade or your finger and vibrate the divine name YOD-HE-VAV-HE.

Next, trace a line of blue-white Light as you turn to the South. Trace another pentagram here and make the stabing guesture as before while vibrating the divine name ADONI.

Trace a line of blue-white Light as you turn to the West. Trace a pentagram here and make the stabing motion as before while vibrating the divine name EHEIEH.

Trace a line of blue-white Light as you turn to the North. Trace a pentagram here and make the stabing motion as before while vibrating the divine name AGLA.

Trace a line of blue-white Light as you turn back to the East. Complete the Circle by finishing the line in the center of the first pentagram, exactly where you began.

Now, facing East, extend your arms out to the side and say:

"Before me RAPHAIEL; behind me GABRIEL; on my right hand MICHAEL; on my left hand AURIEL"; the names of the archangels should be vibrated.

The angels should be visualized appearing as their names are vibrated. Each should be seen as an immense figure on the horizon beyond the landscape in their quarter. The landscape represents the element of the quarter and the archangels represent the divine powers that rule and direct those elements.

The elements represented are as follows: East is Air, South is Fire, West is Water, and North is Earth.

The archangels should have some form that signifies --in your mind--their rulership over their elements. I see Raphaiel in yellow robes rippling from a breeze, he holds a fan in his right hand. I see Gabriel in ocean blue robes, they move in an invisible current. He holds a chalice in his hands. Michael has hair and eyes like flames. His robes are like fire itself. He holds a flaming sword in his hand. Auriel wears black or green robes, he holds a disk-like pantacle.

Next, say:"For about me flames the Pentagrams and in the column shines the six rayed star". (Imagine a large golden hexagram, the same width as your circle forming in the air above you. Rays of power shine radially outwards from each of it's points).

Now, repeat the Kabalistic Cross. Thus ends the Lesser Banishing Ritual of the Pentagram.

Always keep a journal or diary of every ritual, meditation,etc. And remember to do these rituals with feeling! "Enflame yourself with prayer!"

The banishing ritual of the pentagram is an all round good cleansing ritual. It is good for clearing out an area of negativity, and along with the Middle Pillar it is good for cleaning the aura of the Magickian. This ritual should be done every day as many times (at least twice a day) as you want to. This ritual has many good mind traning parts to it. It helps you to develope Visualization, it trains you to control your thoughts and to direct them, etc. Please practice every day.





The next ritual is called the bornless ritual. It is taken from an ancient text and was called the Headless one in the text. Although at first glance it seems very eerie and strange, it has been used by Magickians since the Golden Dawn era to aquire conversation with thier Holy Guardian Angel. I have used this ritual many times and have never had any negative effects. The words are to be vibrated.

THE BORNLESS RITUAL


Thee I invoke the Bornless one.
Thee, that didst create the Earth and the Heavens,
Thee, that didst create the Night and the Day,
Thee, that didst create the Darkness and the Light,
Thou art Osorronophris: Whom no man hath seen at any time.
Thou art Jabas:

Thou didst produce the seed and the fruit.
