1960 SENECA SERIES I.D. NUMBERS - (ALL ENGINES)
Chrysler Corporation changed it's numbering system in 1960 and the Serial Numbers can be broken down as follows:

First symbol identified the car line:

'2' indicated a six-cylinder Dart:
'4' indicated a six-cylinder Dodge or Coronet (1965);
'5' indicated a V-8 Dodge;
'6' indicated a V-8 Matador or Polara;
'7' indicated a Lancer;
'D' indicated a Polara 880, Custom 880, or Monaco V-8:
'L' indicated a V-8 Dart and
'W indicated a V-8 Coronet.

The second symbol indicated the series with a letter, as follows:

'L' indicated low-priced;
'M' indicated medium-priced;
'H' indicated high-priced:
'P' indicated premium-priced and
'S' indicated specially-priced.

The third symbol or digit indicated the year:

'0' indicated 1960,
'1' indicated 1961, etc.

The fourth symbol indicated the assembly plant:

'1' - Lynch Road;
'2' - Dodge Detroit;
'3' - Jefferson, Detroit;
'5' - California;
'6' - Delaware and
'7' - Missouri.

The last six symbols indicated the sequential unit numbers.
