Most of the facts and figures in the
other pages on this site relate to the American assembled vehicles.
This page is about the exported vehicles, that is, the vehicles
that were assembled in Canada, Australia and New Zealand. There
is probably other places they were assembled (South Africa), but
I have no information on these so it is a bit hard for me to comment
on them. If you know anything about more exported cars feel free
to let me know. vertically instead of horizontal
for gear changing in the auto's. They also had the padded dashboard
covering which was normally only available on the Polara 500 and
the seat upholstery was generally in one of the harder wearing of
the fabrics available. There was a Hi-performance V-8 option available on all the Canadian Dodges which used the 4-barrel 383 cubic inch engine that developed 330 horsepower at 4600 RPM. The 361 cubic inch engine with two-barrel carburetor that developed 265 horsepower at 440 RPM was available in New Zealand and Australia. The V-8 engines are offset to the right to allow for clearance of the steering box in left hand drive vehicles, when assembled in right hand drive configuration the exhaust manifold was changed and power steering was not available because of lack of space. There was also less room to work on the brake master cylinder especially if power steering was fitted to the car. Chryslers Windsor, Ontario plant turned out 17,287 standard sized cars for the 1963 model year. |
