and their engines will be used on the 1963 Models.
The starting vehicle number will be as follows:

VEHICLE NUMBER LOCATION
The vehicle number (serial number) is located on a plate which is attached to the left front door hinge pillar post.

DODGE VEHICLE NUMBERS
All vehicle numbers contain ten digits. The vehicle number is a code which
tells you:
the make of car (1st digit)
model of car (2nd digit)
year built (3rd
digit)
assembly plant (4th digit)
and vehicle serial number (last six digits).

ENGINE IDENTIFICATION
Engines may be identified by engine numbers according to the following prefixes:
170 cu.in. T-17 |

225 cu.in. T-22 and TA-22 for the aluminium block engines |

318 cu. in. T-318 |
|
361 cu.in. T-36 |
|
383 cu.in. T-38 h.p |
|
and 413 cu in. T41 |
|
It is not listed but follows that a 426 Cubic inch engine would be stamped T-42 |

The numbers of the 6 cylinder engines are stamped in position "A".

The 383 cu.in. as "A" as shown in the illustration. And 318 cu.in. and the 361cu.in. as "B" |
Eight Cylinder |
The body number is stamped on a plate which is attached to the left or right side of the engine side of the dash, or in front of the radiator yoke.
