I found this car in July 1998. The car had been sitting for over 4 years. The car ran but found I found a few things that I wanted to change. It looked like someone was trying to build show car. It had a lot of chrome (that gone now), custom interior panels. I also found that engine had stock 1973 low compression heads that had been flycut, to lower the compression there were (.250 in)barrel spacers install. Plus the fact I could not find out what size engine. It has 92mm barrels. I plan on rebuilding the old engine later on. I just installed a new engine and running this week (March 17). Now I started working on the interior. I have removed the old carpet.

Spec's on the car when I first got it:

-1969 Baja Bug (wide eye kit)

-engine size ??? No one can tell the size of the engine. I know it has 92mm barrels. It had stock heads(1973 low compression) with Scat short manfolds with Weber 48 IDA's.

- Type 1 Transaxle (gearing ???)

- 3" body lift

- Neal's hydraulic clutch and brake pedels

- Custom interior with VDO gauges (tach, amp, oil pressure, and gas)

- Jackman wheels 15 x 3.5 front and 15 x 13 back

- Chrome 6 point roll cage

Current Specs:

- 2332cc Engine with 9.2:1, 041 Heads 40x35.5 p/p, Scat tall manfolds with Weber 48 IDA's, Engle 130 with Autocraft 1:25 rockers, doghouse oil cooler with roof cooler.

- Ceramic coated 1 5/8 header with 10" SuperTrapp

- 75amp Alternator

- Scat dragfast shifter

- more VDO gauges (removed amp, installed oil temp, head temp, volt)

- Double tube rear cage (firewall mount)

Future Plans:

- rebuild Weber 48IDA's and rejet

- bigger valve heads (Looking at S/E 44 x 37 heads)

- 6" wider Front end (Trying to find Link pin beam that will bolt to Ball joint frame)

- 3 x 3 trailing arms (double shocks)

- Centerline wheels (15x5.5 front & 15 x 8.5 rear)

- New tires (A/T's 215/75 front, M/T's in back)

- Better roll cage

- rewire and install ATC fuse panel

- 091 transaxle with 930 cv's
